So is it Ree-tard or REE-UH-TARD?

I've just been pronoucing it all these years as Jay "Retard," and I never recall anyone in the Lost Sounds or Reatards days saying it any differently.  Is this some mainstream invention?

Has Jay ever weighed in on this?

I always used to think it was "Ree-Uh-tard" - until at Gonerfest II, when someone told me it was just Retard.  Didn't believe her at first, but then she put someone on the phone who also told me it was Retard - which didn't sway me either, until I found out it was Eric O on the phone....i figure he oughta know!
