What's the ruling from the pop punk board?
I don't know anything about them, but I have a friend with generally good taste in punk/hardcore/heavy/loud who swears by them.
-
I'm assuming no redeeming value.
-
without ever hearing their music i can safely say that they definitely suck fuckin dog cock
-
Saw them live in them mid/late 90's. Not good. They had a dancer they toured with.
For some reason crusties used to tolerate this band, I think because they were friends with Chris Boarts (Slug and Lettuce).

Beau Beau. He recently dated a WWE Diva. They also had an ass kicking metal drummer for a while. "Over the James" ain't bad, but I wouldn't swear by it.
-
I went to see them live in the early 00s because this girl I liked at the time was going, but I got drunk and spilled beer on her and didnt get any tail that night and got into a fight on the walk home, so I have bad associations with avail.

I dug "Dixie" A LOT back in high school.
They do a cover of "Pink Houses" by JCM on there.
-
I dug Dixie and 4 a.m. Friday....ya their poppy, hardcore, they did seem to blur the lines when it came to who'd show up at their shows,punkers,crusties,SxE'rs,etc.,etc.. which I thought was always cool. I booked a show for Avail in the 90's at a ymca and they were stand up dudes as well. Love 'em or Hate 'em,maybe you had to be there.

once, i bought a red vinyl lp (can't remember which, it was on fat) of theirs at a thrift store (only "indy label" punk lp i've ever found at a thrift store in my town) for 50 cents. sold it on ebay for $30. not bad. the band may be terrible, but i like them cause i profited on that lp when i really needed the cash.

I'm waiting on thier Behind The Music.

I'm waiting on thier Behind The Music.
There's a documentary out, by the same dude who's doing the Jawbreaker one. Haven't seen it.
-
I bought a cd of theirs when I was getting into punk and was into mostly pop punk stuff and even at that time thought it was god awful.
-
Die-hard fans seems to be the worst. Seems like Lafayette always has some weird pack of tuffs that are really feelin' the Avail. Black nerd guy at the coffee shop is always spouting something off about 'em. Ruining my mornings.
-
Bieber is pictured in the liner notes of the live album. Maybe Bingaman too.
-
Fucking horrible. They were the rage around here for the "true to the scene" people who were more about that than music. Live they sounded like classic rock gone punk.
-
I'm sure if I were to hear them now for the first time I'd hate'em, but I've got memories of driving to out-of-town skateparks listening to "Dixie" on the way when I was a kid, so... Kind of the same thing w/ Op Ivy and Crimpshrine.
-
Live they sounded like classic rock gone punk.
Totally haha
-
Classic Rock gone Punk sounds good to me.
-
They do put on a hell of a show. I caught 'em every time they played Louisville up until 2006 when they stopped playing.
