Title: NYC area: apt for rent in Jersey City
Post by: CollectorScum on November 28, 2009, 06:37:20 PM
Longshot here since I'm guessing the average T-B reader wants to live in Brooklyn and pay under a grand, but I just finished renovating the apartment over my garage and am looking for a tenant.  It's a super-nice studio (450 sq ft, but with a 14 foot cathedral ceiling) and the rent is $1,150 a month, or $1,300 with a garage parking spot.  Anyone interested, send me a PM and I'll reply with full info and pics.

how far is the closest bar?

About 3 blocks.  Place used to have $1 mugs of domestic draft beer, but it's probably up to $1.50 by now, with a pint being $2.  I usually walk a bit further to a place where you can get a pint of Guiness and a huge cheese burger for under $10.

My commute to Soho (walk/PATH/subway) is 45-50 mins door-to-door.

If I had to bet, I'd say that Ben isn't so much interested in moving in, so much as he's drunk as fuck on the internet.... unless he got a huge raise at Bagelsmith.

Yeah, I figured as much, but decided to answer anyway on the off chance someone else cared.

Ha, something like $5-$6 with a side of fries.  The burger is easily over a half-pound.

I will vouch for this cheeseburger.

I will vouch for this cheeseburger.

Ha, I was waiting for that.

This does say something about how much fewer bars are here than in, for example, Williamsburg, that by mentioning a cheap cheeseburger, you know exactly the place I'm talking about.

Very true.  I think I even know the $1 beer place you're talking about and I've never been there.

Good luck with the apartment.  Wish I knew someone that was looking.
