Going to chill in Long Beach this week and go to LA at some point. Any suggestions for long beach? Greasy food, record stores, ect?

Fingerprints on 2nd st can have some good finds. Additionally they do consignment, so you may want to bring down some of your releases. The Prospector is a pretty rad play to play and see bands and their restaurant, while not mind blowing, is worth checking out as their steaks are cheap (literally and figuratively), so you don't have to feel bad about drowning them in A1. There's also a restaurant called The Pike on 7th St. that has pretty good fish and chips and, I believe, is owned by the drummer of Social Distortion so all the requisite memorabilia abounds.

Isn't Dark Realm Records somewhere in the area? Crepusculo Negro is based around Long Beach as well. BLACK TWILIGHT CIRCLE.

If you go to the Prospector, don't order any seafood. I went there for a special occasion and the lobster and crab legs were terrible. The Prime rib was OK.

The Sublime style coming straight from Long Beach.

Los Eduardos...one of the best meals I've ever had. The molcajete with meat, chile verde, cactus...MIND BLOWING. It's on Long Beach Blvd.

There are more Cambodians in Long Beach than anywhere outside of Cambodia, so there are a kazillion Cambodian restaurants. Try any of them and you'll probably be happy. Most are reasonably priced. We ate at Sophy's Fine Thai and Cambodian Cuisine when we were there early this year and it was great.
