it's been years but try smokin' al's on hampton.

and if o'fallon, il isn't too far for you ,try 17th street grill.

I've heard Roper's is really the best in town. Supposed to be pretty amazing...tho' I'd avoid that unless you were with someone that was comfortable with the area. Meaning...it's in Jennings, which is just outside of the north side city limits. That's one of the rougher parts of St. Louis, for sure. I wouldn't venture there on my own if you didn't know the roads and how to leave the area quickly. Still, it might be worth the adventure.

I've heard this take out place near Roper's is good too... C&K BBQ. Again, rough area.
