who's tha best beatle?
-
I voted for the fif' Beatle 'cos it could be anybody. My second favorite Beatle is George 'cos he never said anything and he had big eyebrows like me. After that is Paul, who's far and away the strangest Beatle, much weirder than John, for sure. John and Ringo are tied for fourth -- John 'cos he wrote "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" and "She Said, She Said," and Ringo 'cos he played the drumbs.
-
They're all gross hippies.
-
When I was little I was way into Paul, but as an adult I feel that George is the sexiest/best.

Stu ain't... though Pete is the actual Best.

2nded.
-
is that the 5th beatle or something?
-
was having this very debate with some broad i was trying to endear myself to recently (she asked, i dun care about the beatles at all) and i said ringo just because it seemed like the right thing to do and when pressed as to why i said that it's cuz he did those pizza hut "crust first" ads and that seemed good enough for her even though she deemed it "so random"
-
Ringo all the way. I'm not into the Beatles much, but he seems like the one I'd wanna hang around with the most, especially in the 70's when he was getting wasted with Keith Moon. Also, I guess back in the 80's or something, he was interviewed on some TV talk show and they asked him what "newer" bands he liked and he said the Cramps!
After that, it's George, then John, then Paul...
-
My favorite is Dirk McQuickly
-
I'm voting for Klaus Voorman.

George Harrison. Not much of a Beatles fan, but he was the one who wrote the best songs overall, even the bad ones.

Given the severity of the outcome of this poll, I would now like to take this thread seriously and retract my last vote and give my support to the #1 Beatle CHRISTINA!
-
You're all just voting for George because he's "the quiet one"!!
Least important Beatle.
-
blue jay way is a great song. one of the only rockin studio moments from the let it be film is the end of harrison's i me me mine. savoy truffle, a little song called taxman???
way better than the two songs ringo wrote. could hardly be a less important member of any band than ringo.
-
the fact that harrison is top in the runnings right now just proves that most of you guys are fags. You guys just have to be obscure for obscurity's sake, don't you?
-
It's a tough question! Ringo's an awesome drummer but he is, after all, just the drummer. George just seems like the coolest guy among them, even if he did let Eric Clapton pork his wife and then write a shitty song about it.
I mean, it's really John or Paul, kind of, isn't it? Paul was a helluva bass player, probably my favorite musician out of the four. John became insufferable toward the end of the Beatles and remained so for the rest of his life.
Yoko's records kinda suck, all of 'em. Even the good ones. It's hip to say Yoko's better than the Beatles but what a load of horseshit. I like a crazy bitch as much as the next man, but come on, it's th' bloody Beetols!
-
The correct answer is John.
-
Brian Epstein.

No way. Ringo has a super distinct drum style that enhances their songs. It seems like there's always been some belief that Ringo is a shitty drummer & I've never understood that. He's really musical in his playing. Imagine the Beatles with Keith Moon or John Bonham - it would be absurd!
-
Lee Marvin
-
I liked paul before paul got killed and replaced by fake paul. Now I don't know who I like.

i agree that his minimal drumming is an essential part of their sound, i would simply argue that it would also have been the easiest part to replace. watch their tour films with the replacement drummer, no big difference. harrison, as a songwriter, was a far more important member.

I had a dream I was at a pool party with George Harrison so I guess I'll go with him.
I almost had thanksgiving dinner with John Lennon's son one year but I decided to stay home instead. My boyfriend at the time went though.

Tie between Paul and John. Can't pick between the two. Maybe John wins slightly more because of Instant Karma. But, Wings had some sick tunes.

Paul for sure, never was a big lennon fan...
But to be fair I was never huge on any of their solo stuff
-
George, because he stole Ringo's wife and had the balls to tell Ringo to his face that he was in love with Maureen right in front of Patti. And he's cutest.

Yeah, but Clapton totally f'd George's wife and George didn't gut that pussy. GEORGE SUCKS.

I always thought Paul was always the hottest, and I liked most of the songs he wrote more than Lennon. But looking back, George takes the win. His solo stuff is pretty cool, and he found his spiritual side and inner beauty through all of the madness of being a beatle.
-
Paul is the only correct answer.

seriously, george is the best. Clarence is 1B.
-
george because of the travelin willburrys
-
John is the best. As a Beatle, he wrote more good songs than the rest combined. Solo, he sucked though.
George is second. Solid guitar leads, some great songs, but not enough to put him above John.
Ringo is third.
Paul is last because of all the awful songs he wrote (Yesterday, Michelle, Here there and everywhere, Obladi-oblada). He did write "I'm Down", but that doesn't redeem him from all the other shit.
-
He also wrote "Helter Skelter".
-
from some website i found:
"1972
Paul and Linda McCartney are busted for smuggling hashish into Sweden. He pays a $2,000 fine.
1973
McCartney is busted for growing marijuana on his farm in Scotland. He is fined the equivalent of $240.
McCartney visits John Lennon and Harry Nilsson, who are living together in L.A. while Lennon produces Nilsson's album, "Pussy Cats." A bleary-eyed Nilsson offers McCartney some PCP. Paul asks, "Is it fun?" "No," Nilsson replied. So McCartney passes on the PCP.
1974
According to a book written by May Pang called Loving John: The Untold Story.. about the time she spent as John Lennon's girlfriend, John Lennon and Paul McCartney drop acid together one day in New York City in 1974 and decide to go visit David Bowie.
Bowie has just received the final mix of his latest album, Young Americans.. which includes two songs that John Lennon worked on. One was a reworking of The Beatles song, "Across the Universe," and the other was to become Bowie's first number one hit, "Fame," co-written with Lennon. Bowie proudly plays the new album for his two Beatles heroes and they're impressed. And so he plays it again. And again. And again. Eventually, McCartney excuses himself and bolts out the door, Lennon following quickly behind.
1975
Linda McCartney is busted for possession of marijuana in Los Angeles, but charges are dropped.
January 16, 1980
McCartney famously busted in Japan at the start of a planned tour with Wings with approximately half-a-pound of marijuana in his suitcase. He spends ten days in prison in Japan before being released and deported. After his release, he promises to quit but also argues that it is less harmful than Valium or alcohol. He also later comments that he just couldn't leave the pot behind because "it was such good stuff."
1984
Paul and Linda McCartney busted in Barbados for possession of marijuana. Several days later, Linda is busted again flying into Heathrow Airport in London with marijuana.
In college in the late 1970s, I had a girlfriend from The Hamptons who had been the baby sitter for Paul and Linda McCartney. (Paul and Linda and their children lived in that elegant Long Island suburb through most of the 1970s). Lizzie hated babysitting for the McCartneys because they were slobs (messy house) and because there were "drugs all over the place," right out in the open where theoretically one or all of their four young children could get at them. When I questioned Liz more closely about the drugs, she mentioned white powders, mushrooms and (no surprise) marijuana."
-
oh wow, pop culture icon likes drugs, alert the media
-
I voted for paul because i like his solo stuff the best. That means he holds up well for me. His beatles songs were kind of sappy, but always catchy. Plus, "Lady Madonna" proves he could boogie with the best. John was an insecure asshole really. Seemed snobbish to me. Geoge's beatles songs rule. Solo he shot his load with "All Things Must Pass."
1-Paul
2-George
3-Ringo (country album ruled)
4-John
if john had written more songs like "Hey Bulldog" and "I want you (she's so heavy)" he would rocket up my chart.

proof positive that the beatles wouldve been as good, or better, without ringo. not every drummer has the desire to overplay like moon or bonham. jimmy nicol would have made a damn fine ramones drummer.
my other choice would be the nigger beatle.
