Ex-Rip Offs' Jon Von's current band will be touring the US of A soon. They play fast rock & roll, as if DMZ had been more into 50s than 60s with a very slight touch of hardcore (as in "we play very fast and the singer sometimes screams rather than sings"). Don't miss them.

The Avengers are also playing the Pittsburgh show. That is just gonna be funny.
-
The real AVENGERS?
-
Shit, Jon did a good job booking this thing. He asked me to book in the first place (back during the winter) but I'm trying to never do that again. Good or at least appropriate bands just about every night of the tour. I'm not convinced by the records but I'll bet they're fun live, or at least I hope so.
-
Avengers: I think they've actually been doing original line-up shows in SF recently. Saw them once, billed as The ScAvengers, which was Penelope and Ingram with Joel from Mr.T Experience on bass and Danny Panic from Screeching Weasel on drums. It wasn't so hot.
Doesn't the world need an Icky Boyfriends reunion more than an Avengers reunion right now?????????????????????????

Yes. Or a Drunks with Guns reunion.
The Four Slicks Buffalo show is at a lesbian bar.
-
That's cool that you get to hang out with your Mom at a show.
-
I'll fucking cut you, Trickknee.
-
WOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!
Totally going to both NYC shows.
-
i've seen the reformed Avengers at a punk festival in the UK. not sure of original members but they played pretty good and looked a lot healthier than most of the old English bands I saw that weekend
-
Avengers also have a totally ridiculous guarantee and rider.
Fags...
P.S. its written in their contract that they refuse to play any later than 12:00 a.m.
-
does anyone know how many clams the avengers show in chicago is? or how many clams the cheap trick chicago show is? i think cheap trick would probably be better.
an icky boyfriends reunion would be crucial.
-
That night Shellac is playing. I'm not showing up till they're done. Then as soon as we play and I watch the Four Slicks I am leaving the show we're playing.
-
shellac's playing before the touch and go fest?
-
I meant the Pittsburgh show on September 5th.
-
Speaking of Cheap Trick and Shellac...that re-recording of CT's 2nd LP Albini did is good shit. I bet they would do a good show still.
-
Beach Patrol is on the Green Bay Show as well. Anybody hear/see the 4 slicks yet? Im pretty excited about this show. Who else is in the Jetty boys besided eric and drew?
-
We Wisconsin (and Illinois) fuckers that care about Cheap Trick are pretty lucky cause they play every other county fair/festival/whathaveya that goes on here...and it's a great show every time! As you can tell by that Albini thing that was recorded not too long ago, they still sound the exact same. Yeah, they always play every token hit that I'm sure they're as sick of plucking through as we are hearing...but every time they play they change it up a bit and baffle the mullet rocker crowd with non-chart-toppers of the past and half-diggable tracks from the recent CD they're pushing. They play that Big Star tune that they cover on That (GODAWFUL) 70's Show at every show now too...fuck yeah! Kids still peck on the ground like little roosters for the picks that Rick Nielson throws out after every chord he plays.
Nick...all of the Four Slicks singles are great!!! The Jetty Boys are Drew, Eric, and some dude named Jon from some band called the Rocksteadys. From the sounds of the "crappy practice room demo," we Leghounds fans shouldn't expect much delineation from the formula (read: perfection) (except that I don't hear backup harmonies, only call and response sort of stuff but hey, it is a 'crappy practice room tape' nonetheless). See you in Green Bay on Tabman's birthday (although his ass will probably wasted in Milwaukee). Woo!

The tour is starting tomorrow... If you go, please report, even if you hated them...

The Friday Sept 8th show at Siberia is gonna start at midnight and it's gonna be a free afterparty (some action cancelled) so if you wanna go see avengers or radio birdman you can get drunker and see the 4 slicks, of course you can also go into brooklyn on sat the 9th and see em with the shemps and plungers, but we all know you wanna go to both!
-
I tried to hit up the Salt Lake show but their van broke down in Nevada and they did not make it.
-
ha ha.. they don't have a van. they are ridin' in some 1962" or 1963" Falcon wagon. Jon's nuts in that thing. I knew there was no way that shit would make Salt Lake. We partied big time here in SF with the frenchies...way to their hearts? Ricard & absinthe!
-
Those dudes totally rule.

The drummer's in Frustration. When I found that out I shook his hand vigorously & got him really high. I think another is in the Creteens. Frustration is coming over next spring or something. Four Slicks said Green Bay was their best show so far, which is too bad since it was a 2/3 full small bar, though the crowd was drunk & fun, I guess. Hopefully the eastern portion went better. Awesome guys, but I wasn't really into the set. Too Leg Hounds/Devil Dogs/Gearhead for me, and in this area we've seen the Leg Hounds do their thing just about every month for 8 years or whatever, and honestly, I think they were better at it. It was nice seeing Jon play, he's a cool guitarist and was obviously having a blast.
-
I loved 'em at the in-store at Brooklyn's Pass Out Records.
-
They were a lot of fun to watch. The drummer was in No-Talents too.
-
I'm glad people liked them, they're good guys & I helped Jon with a few dates & I'd do it again. I just thought what they were doing was tired. They did get people dancing at the bar, even if it was the doooshes. Someone should post the Bazooka video.
