When they taste like fucking shit and you have to wait in line. And it takes forever to park. It is $1.25 about 300ft from my hause to visit the taco stand.

I've been living in Austin since February and have yet to find breakfast tacos as good as ones in my home town. everyone here uses wimpy bacon and tiny, thin tortillas.
Tacos with huge fluffy tortillas and big chewy pieces of thick cut bacon is how it should be.

Well let's see.
Barton Springs. I wouldn't pay to go in but just use the down stream parts. Or you can pay if you want to swim
Trudys. I always take people here because it's full of yuppy assholes,college kids and creepy old dudes in orange shirts and amuses me. They have some margarita like drink that you can only get two of before they cut you off of. It's pretty good and I think the happy hr special is for those today.
Yellow Jacket Social Club. I hate bars and this is probably the only place in town I might go to. There is always various diferent groups of people I know there at random times
Trailor Space. Because JJ is a fat Mexican and I have found decent records there.
Polvos for the salsa bar
Vivo if you're on a date and want a lil more upscale texmex place
Claypit. Awesome indian food and the curried mussel appitizer is to kill for
Pinballz if you want to play uhhh pinballz and it's byob
If you have wheels and want to go a little bit outside of town Krause Springs is top notch and wont be busy during the week to swim.
Alamo draft Hause is cool to see movies and drink at.
Weds is a show at this gaybar Chain Drive with Vaaska and Women in prison.
Swimming,doing drugs,eating,and playing guitar is about what sums up this city.

austin provides one the ability to have minor adventures daily. just ride the bus around or something. walk around with your headphones on.
in this city, you almost always will fall into something to do. didnt know about guitar wolf. not sure i would need to see them again.
but chaos in tejas is upon us now, so there are some decent bands for that. pinballz was indeed fun. just went the other day.
sneaking into barton springs at night is really fun after the bars. as steve earle said, the dope is too cheap, and the women are too fine. you can't get anything done.
i also get everything for free. you would expect so after living here for over ten years.

while in the hood mozie on down to the cloak room, a below street level dive right by the capitol.
little joints are popping up in neighborhoods all over. on north loop there is a cool new cocktail place that is dark and cozy. forget the name. not parlor, but right down the way.
i went to DiveBar across from dog and duck the other day. could become cool,but boring right now.
spider house has been nice lately, hanging out in the courtyard after bar hopping on east side.
agreed on all those other shitty places. but you just listed shitty places. longbranch and scoot inn and both fun whatever.
other wierd joints are Lala's and jenny's little longhorn. dale watson on thursday nights is a blast. haven't been to burger night yet,

just moved to austin a couple weeks ago from columbus. staying with a friend up near north loop/burnet, moving into my own place in a month. looking to get out and meet some people or just generally find out what there is to do around here. the choices seem kind of overwhelming. went to End of an Ear and took a trek out to Hamilton Pool this weekend, both were pretty great. any good shows/anything else coming up this weekend?

El Caribe on North Lamar is decent. Los Jaliscienses off the 290 access road ain't half bad either, at least for chilaquiles.
