Calling all argentermbos and world travelers:

In Buenos Aires for three weeks with the lady. Anyone got insights into good places to see shows/music listings/places to record dig? Or perhaps a few bars that aren't either a pub or some trendy "secret" speakeasy?

Tons of good touristy stuff to do during the day but trying to head out at night without completely blowing the budget.

I'll be in Buenos Aires and around (Uruguay, Paraguay... who knows?) starting from this friday and for a whole month.
Travelling with wife and kids.

Bring as much USD as you can. A lot of places will take US$ payment for nearly 2/3 the stated exchange rate (if not more).
Inflation was terrible when I was there in 2012, and now it's on the brink of bankruptcy, so don't imagine its any better. 

I'll try to remember some of the more interesting places in BA. How long you staying there?

Already back. Stayed in Recoleta near the cemetery. Did a lot of touristy stuff. Nice museums, nice sights, good food, nice variety of neighborhoods, cool night life, and a great amount of books stores. Had a great trip. Would go again.
