I emailed them months ago about doing a Wisconsin show and got no reply. So now they're playing in Chicago on a night where I have plans already. Awesome.

Funny thing is, I doubt they could even get a good show in Milwaukee anyway. I doubt anyone even knows who they are.

Milwaukee's great but very sheltered. Lots of people I've known there are mostly into the local bands and great bands such as Inmates and Darvocets end up playing to a completely empty house because NOBODY there has ever even heard of them, whereas all the rest of their shows on that tour were packed with crazed bastards.

That's why the Cheveu/Tyvek show was in Green Bay & not Milwaukee - the usual "bookers" hadn't heard of the bands, so they weren't interested. I think you usually have to pay dues in Milwaukee, as there are shows happening every night and it sometimes will take a trip or two through to get everyone to show up (unless they play with a popular local).

That's bullshit. They contacted him long before the five band show at his house. He told me so. He also told me he told them off when they contacted him. I was flabbergasted and asked him "why?" and he told me "I'd never heard of them." He told me straight out that he was a dick to them.
I don't know why he'd lie to you like that, he didn't seem embarrased about what he did when I talked to him.
...and by the way... that revisionist bullshit pisses me off even more than his original actions did.

I love Eric. He's a friend, but you're right that he's weird sometimes. I guess we all are. This just really kinda pissed me off. I told him so to his face too. You're right he would have loved the bands too.

i think 7 or 8? No one seems to know for sure. Opening bands are noise I guess.

Nihilist Gallery is Andy from Plastic Crimewave Sound's loft/space and it's BYOB for sure but there's really no liquor stores close, so get it on the way. They might have a cover, as it was $5 last time.
