Season 5 preview: http://youtu.be/BR4VmnWQ2qw
Kickstarter update: http://youtu.be/TBDuzX1Net4
Not sure if this has popped up on here yet but the Milwaukee Film Crew, "Space Command", the ones behind the "Rock N Roller Remote Controller" TV show series featuring several bands each episode is now heading into finishing up their 5th episode.
They've managed to raise $3,255 of their $3,752 goal to help continue paying for materials for props and rent in their studio.
If you're unfamiliar with the series, you can watch episodes in full here: http://rrrc.tv
Bands they've featured and music videos created include in no particular order:
Goodnight Loving, Holy Shit!, Thomas Function, Dinosaur Pills, International Datelines, Truthdealer, Sugar Stems, The Hussy, Terrible Twos, Sonic Chicken 4, Jaill, Head On Electric, Bored Games, Liquor Store, Elephant Walk and Drugs Dragons... maybe more, I can't remember.
If you'd like to contribute or share this with your friends on Facebook or whatever, that would be a good way to see this continue into a 6th and 7th episode or more!
Check it out on Kickstarter for info:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1946588017/rock-n-roller-remote-controller-ep-5?ref=home_location
AND DON'T LET ME FORGET TO MENTION ALL THE AMAZING GIFTS AVAILABLE FOR CONTRIBUTORS!
-
BTW, they're all just friends of mine and I'm trying to help them out. I don't think any of them know about TB so give em a hand if ya can.
They're show host is Tabman from Holy Shit! fame.
-
Ban?
-
no aluminumknoteye? if i was making a tv show in milwaukee they would be the first people i would contact.
the show is also lacking in bradx. i am a local legend and practically live up the street.
-
This show is really well done. The production on the Terrible Twos video is sick.
-
Ban?
Josh was part of the early days of TB when there were like 12 people here. Where the fuck were you, cumlately?
I hate Kickstarter/charity shit, but RRRC do great work (for nothing) and make real videos (for nothing) for good bands (for nothing), so it's a worthy cause. The videos make more sense when you watch a full episode, but these are probably my favorites:
Terrible Twos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlL6Iv2I3d8
Head on Electric: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F8NsqJ89Kg
Holy Shit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGx_zSJzWJk
Jaill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvwbrf3k5GI
-
Sorry Dad.
So does Kickstarter suck or does it just suck if it's not your pals doing the panhandling?
Plastic Bag Baby and your bloviating cheeseating ass were at TB before me too Mr cumqickly. So what?
Support the seance.
-
I'll make it really simple - you suck no matter what you're doing. Bummer.
-
josh first appeared here in 2005 when he was playing with porch honkees
i agree its a cool show but it does lack bradx and swampy
-
Cumstain - in other words, you got nothing?
-
Well, I could change a saying from "support the scene" to "support the seance" or something lame like that, but since seance isn't a clever turn (it doesn't relate back to the topic, just changes a letter for no discernible purpose) and is just you once again throwing feces against the wall hoping I suppose that mental midgets will find it obtuse and somehow clever in its very meaninglessness, but I'd rather cut to the chase: you are a blowhard who is far less clever than he thinks he is. Age is no substitute for wit, intelligence or veracity. There's been a guy just like you dropping by every 6 months or so for many years now, and you're all tiresome. Tirescum. See what I did there?
-
spporting the scene is one thing but kickstart begging still fucking sucks.
-
Cumstain - I've been here for about five years. I'm sorry the cleverness of support the seance wherein the meaning of seance replaces the meaning of scene is lost on you but those readers whose lips are not moving will realize the actual meaningful connection between the two words (both have to do w/ a nebulous spirit world, both have to do with shapeshifting, etc.) See what I did there? Unfurrowing your mongo brow might help.
Nice blast, re. Age, veracity, wit, intelligence. Like most, despite my advanced years, I am haunted by self-doubt in all those aspects of life and human communication. However I do know that I am smarter than you beyond measure. And with that I will allow you to continue with your pedantry you mistake for veracity, wit and all that shit.
Maybe YOU can do a Kickstarter for a set of encyclopedias and a Don Rickles VHS.

ban?
why would anyone ban me? what the fuck did i do?
hey support my record label! support my video label! whats the difference?
yeah, im an old timey, not like tricknee but old enough and i dont get around to posting on here much lately.
maybe that's because everyone's first response is: "lets moderate this shit! who the fuck is this guy? get outta my scene! it's my scene!"
did you even bother to read the post or look at the videos first? the bands these film makers support are the same bands everyone else on here and their labels support.
ahh fuck it, im outta here.

dang five years ? your credibility alone wins the argument.
-
EVERYBODY BUTTFUCK!!!
-
I'd ban the fuck out of fuckgaze.
(but I like what he's doing here)
I like the RRRC.
And the Sugar Stems, too.
-
It is weird that AKE is not on there yet, however.
I wish they could get another band in there, too.
Maybe some band that's been on the cover of MRR.
I don't know who they'd get, though.
-
ban?
why would anyone ban me? what the fuck did i do?
It's because there's an across-the-board knee-jerk negative response to Kickstarter on here.
-
It's a cool show. Head on Electric sound like Nirvana.
-
Seriously bummed at some of the rudeness in this thread!
-
I've been here for about five years.
this statement is a joke...i've been here about as long and no one even knows who i am. so your attempt at cred will probably fall on deaf ears. Maybe if you ever had something to say than spitting bullshit people would see you as an integral part of termbo. Please don't come back at me with big words and puns...i'm just a punk rocker, and not a very smart one at that.
-
Meshkalina ain't no cumlately, He cum right on time, every time! ;p
Kickstarter is ghey, c'mon. Haven't watched the show, though.
Fuckgaze seems like a nice guy.
Abate the hate, like the man sezz...
-

what for? i mean if someone is willing to support a cause, who gives a shit?
-
an integral part of termbo.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Lighten up people, it's a message board. Yeah, Kickstarter sucks. But also, RRRC is a great show. If you don't wanna support them on Kickstarter, then don't. Geezus.
-

Most people despise Kickstarter because it is synonymous with concepts like automatic entitlement and laziness. Many poorly conceived projects have been summoned through the ritual use of "Kickstarting it" without any real elbow grease, and I think most people who work very hard to bring projects out to the masses are opposed to the concept of seeing anyone and their mom indiscriminately receive what basically amounts to a "punk rock grant".
That said, RRRC is not characterized by any of those nasty qualities, and so I don't see what the big deal is. It's obviously far more expensive and far more IN NEED to produce a show of this quality than "another record by some kid somewhere".
-
this aint pbs. fuck fund drives.
-
-
Thanks to methkumina they did it!
There is nothing I can do to thank you! So, no thank you.
3 days left and over the goal.
If anyone else contributed because of this post I made, thank you!
Keep your eye out for episode 5, it's gonna be the best one yet! They always get better!
-
I wish they could get another band in there, too.
Maybe some band that's been on the cover of MRR.
I don't know who they'd get, though.
Holy Shit! was already on there. They even got four videos. There the only Wisconsin band that's been on the cover of MRR, right?

They're* the only...
That's a Journalism major for you...
-
are you guys joking? i think there MIGHT be one more band that was on the cover of MRR...
-
i always assumed somehow i would die young. the shitty thing was waking up one day in my 30s and realizing i had absolutely no plan or idea of what to do with the rest of my life. now long forgotten and ignored by those who i used to consider my friends and fans, i might as well kill myself and end it all now, clearly there is nothing worth living for anymore... :) ;) :P ;) :)
-
spporting the scene is one thing but kickstart begging still fucking sucks.
Seriously, this is some straight up Brandon Cruz-type shit - it's the internet equivalent of panhandling.
-
kickstart my heart
kickshart?
-
I have infinitely more respect for panhandling than using kickstarter.

why? explain?

Who are the Zeros anyway?
-
they were an 80s glam metal hair band from hollywood
-
I want to say there might have been a WI band on the cover - called "Lots In Between"?
-

I don't expect them to ask Aluminum Knot Eye to be on this show. If they did, of course we'd do it and would appreciate it. But we've been around too long, I guess, and don't hang around with these people very often. I'd probably have to go to every basement show for a year straight and support the scene by saying every band is great before anybody would think about throwing our band into this thing. But, you know, I'm old and married and landlocked out here in West Allis. Kinda funny though, I can act and be funny or whatever when there's a camera on me and I feel my band can tear shit up better than some of these kiddy bands, but you know, I guess we just don't hang out with em' enough. Might finally get the final mixes for the oft-delayed new AKE LP from Zink very soon, so maybe a new record will get people to care ever so slightly again. But it doesn't really matter, we'll just keep doing what we do, at whatever (slow) pace and with whatever amount (very little) of promotional tools we have at our disposal.
It definitly would be cool to see a BratwurstX band in one of these things, but I wouldn't count on that, either.
-

why? explain?
It takes guts to panhandle. You gotta look people in the face.
-
Quite an acceptable reason!
Would definitely love to see an AKE video!
-
Don't hold your breath.

we are (allegedly) having a legit hi def professional video done by bob scott for inclusion on a dvd that will come out with an upcoming issue of his mongrel zine.

Yep. Me be stoopid.
-
All the dudes from RNRRC are great dudes and good friends. I'm sure they'd do an AKE video if you winked at em. They're always looking for new bands and you guys deserve a good vid.

Here is a good argument against kickstarter..
