I still think it's crazy that they're flying The Black Lips in for this show...but I'll be there. Anyone else going?

Crossing into Canada via airplane is way easier than crossing via a car. I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Yeah...the same bar flew The Detroit Cobras in for a two night stand a while back with no problems, but they couldn't get acroos the border without hassels this time...

How is this guy not losing money on this?  Are there more than 100 people (if that) in Edmonton that care about the Black Lips?

The guys probably lost a shitload on this show. There were, maybe, 100 people there...$13 a head, but a buncha people were probably guest listed by the opening bands (we were). So they make a little over $1000 plus booze sales. Decent show though...the promoter came into some money, so he flies bands in every few months. Shit, I ain't gonna complain...

That makes sense, then.   That's actually pretty awesome that there's some independantly wealthy guy in Edmonton that likes shit like Black Lips and just flies his favorite bands into town every few months just cause he can.  If I was loaded, I'd do the same thing.
