Finally. This has been in the works for 2 years. It will be a 15 minute bart ride from where they are now.

Seriously, it's as if the Giants had moved into a stadium built in Daly City, they are still the Oakland A's. Altho, they are now only 25 minutes from San Jose.

anybody see Gwen Knapp's piece this morning- the site is at least a couple of miles from BART. How is that going to work? I can see a huge lineup of Afghani rickshaws jostling for position at the pickup area, but I mean really, is this dating the other guy to make the not-paying-enough-attention old boyfriend jealous? I doubt it, too, but they got themselves a transport problem.

Yeah I read that. All the noise up to now was it was gonna be next to BART. Now it is something like 5 miles off the BART line and they are talking about doing some kind of "retail village" around it.  Speculation is that this is some ploy to get Oakland to let up on zoning so they can get one done by the water.  Then again Fremont is really close to San Jose...

880 is absolute murder already.  When I lived in Fremont, they were planing on extending the BART line, which would probably have to happen unless they are banking on what's left of .com San Jose to buy up all the tickets.
