Hi, this is the master-drummer from the feelers. A recent review of our mind-blowing release "Just Can't Get Enough," reads: "I can see these guys squaring off against the Final Solutions for the US punk rock title very soon. Thunderdome-style, in a neutral location."
I have just spoken to the Lowly Jay in person and he assures me that there are two records on his turntable at any given moment: Learn to Hate the Feelers LP, and a Gregorian Chant that professes our collective diety as a band, which Jay says that he uses as a means of entering what he calls a "trance-like state" in which he can perform feats of levetation and 13 hour tantric sex (thus edging out Sting in the Tantric Sex Iron Man category. Jay has assured me that were such a band v. band competition to take place, not only would the Feelers come out the clear winner, but the Final Solutions would likely change their name and pursue a completely different line of artistic endeavor, perhaps group photography or portrait painting.
thus you may take it on my authority that the feelers are indeed the greatest band in the world as deemed by a group of their peers. in fact, they have no peer.
just wante to see what ya'll thought about that, you know, whether or not it's true.
the other thing i wanted to make sure everyone knows, since i'm bored and hungover, is that the cover of the "Can't get enough" 7" is in fact a picture of Abu Musab Al Zarqawi holding the disembodied head of Glen Danzig who is bleeding, you guessed it, pepperoni pizzas.
look for the feelers in europe in april and may of this next year, and in theaters Christmas 2007.

both these bands were favorites of mine for a few years now, but i gotta say apart from the "next boy" single version the final solutions are better. i still prefer the first functional blackouts lp to anything by either band though, and the carbonas are probably the best band right now.
im not sure who is the best band ever, but my ego tells me it must be one i was in...

Not a Black Lips fan at all (I like that Dirty Hand song, though) and am pretty fond of the Feelers. In fact, Joe and I had 2 recent marathon drinking nights that resulted in nearly 3 cases of beer.

Motherfuck the Black Lips. Totally not my thing and neither are you Thunderguns but your band has written some damn fine songs. I never got to see H-100's either Jon, but Russ Romance has and he said it was scary.

I dunno what was up with the Feelers set in St. Paul this past summer, but the guitar was turned up so fucking loud and treble heavy that I had to walk out of the club for fear of aggravating my incipient tinitus. And I was wearing earplugs. I have no idea if the songs they were playing were good or bad, because their levels were so poorly set.

Feelers are a treble-soaked drunken KBD-worshipping mess and it's a damn fine thing to behold.
In a way, The Feelers totally suck. And in a another way, they are the punkest band in the world. And totally rule. But they still kinda suck. In a way. It's kind of nice, really, that they don't have complete mastery of the Punk Rock Zeitgeist. It makes them better and more real. But they still suck.
p.s. I'm working on a pitch for a Feelers reality show. It would air after Project: I'm a Total Fucking Pud.

I don't like either band maybe 95/100 dislike factor. Feelers did have a Bobby Soxx snippet on one song. I'll give you props for that. Both bands have maybe 2 songs I like. But it's not like I actually think about either bands' records or ever listened to them more than 2 or 3 times. Tons more stuff I'd rather listen to. 99% of it made about 25 years ago.
