There's some good record shops in Shibuya including one shop that is all rockabilly and one that is all punk.

The punk Disc Union in Shibuya is great, but bring your credit card for those $550 copies of the Turnbuckles single. A couple minutes up the road in Shibuya is RecoFan, which is like this huge warehouse full of records and probably the best one stop shop in Tokyo. There are hordes of good record stores in Tokyo though.

Yep - I've been to that Disc Union shop in Shibuya. My wife was with me and had that 'I'll wait but I want to go somewhere else' look, so I couldn't stay and look thru as much stuff as I would have liked.

FWIW - I'll be in Tokyo Oct. 19 to 23 but I'm pretty set unless anybody knows of something great going on the 19th (Sat.). Sunday night I'm going to the Denniz Tek show although I just saw that the Raydios have cancelled - bummer. Would love to meet up for a beer at Poor Cow on Sat. with any termbros...

I'll be there in May for around a week playing a string of shows. Any tips, in general? Cool shit to check out other than record stores? I'll swing by those shops, for sure.

Nakano Broadway is pretty cool (ground floor is a regular mall but upstairs is full of vintage toys store, movie memorabilia stuff, books...)

That's right! My friend in Hiroshima told me you guys are playing there...Really bummed I won't be there. Hit up the Peace Park/A-bomb museum if you can and eat some Okonomiyaki Hiroshima style:

i forgot to mention it but if you have spare time in Hiroshima catch a boat to Miyajima island. It's really beautiful, plenty of free deer and one of the most famous japon Tori picture shot:
