I'll be driving from Miami to New Orleans for my honeymoon with stops in Orlando and St. Augustine along the way. (I searched through the archives, and it seems like everything pertaining to these places is a few years old.) I've kinda got the hang of New Orleans and Miami, but everything in between is totally new to me. Any recommendations on record stores, restaurants, unusual places to stay and cool or weird shit would be greatly appreciated.

As far as st augustine, you should check the huge old spanish fort there.

As far as record stores go both cities suck. St. Augustine for the most part is extremely touristy but can be a fun place to party. The fort is cool and Nobby's is a pretty entertaining seedy bar but outside of that I don't really know much. Are you going to be in Orlando or out near the theme parks?

We're staying by Universal Studios, but I'll have a car and am hoping to make it into Orlando proper especially if there's a show or some good food. Your store closed, right?

Yeah I closed the shop and work from home. When are you going to be here? There is a ton of good food. THE Mills 50 area is filled with great Vietnamese food. Plenty of good Bahn me and Pho. IF you are looking for a classy joint Ravenous Pig, Cask and Larder, Prato. There is this place Scratch I haven't been to that is supposed to be really good. For cocktails there is Lil Indies, Courtesy, Hansen's Shoe Repair, The Woods, Matador (my girlfriend works there and if you come in on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday night she'll hook you up. My girlfriend knows a bunch more places for fancy food or drinks. email me when you are coming into town and maybe be can meet up for a drink or two. Bunch of cool bars on Mills. Wally's is a must stop dive bar with the stiffest drinks in town
