I'm heading down to Perth for a conference in a few days. Anybody on here from there/familiar with it? Record shops, places to eat, anything to do; all suggestions welcome. I have done no research yet, point me in the right direction if you can.

I'm sure someone from Australia can help better, but I've been a few times. Decent record stores, okay food. It's been a while, so I don't remember names of many places.
Let me ask LaceyUnderall for recommendations. She lived there for a year and might have some ideas.

Make sure to get your picture taken next to the statue of Gus Chamber.

what dates you heading down?

It was December 12-17 of last year. By the time the conference was done for the day, most shops were closing up so I didn't really get to do much. Took a day trip to Rottnest Island, briefly perused one record store (Noise Pollution, I think), saw some kangaroos on Heirisson Island (about a 10 minute walk from the hotel), and that's really about it. Way too short of a trip but I didn't have to pay for any of the travel/lodging, so I can't complain.
