sorry they're so expensive and there are no copies available at wholesale. the pressing was limited to 500 (i think) and we had to import them.

Given that the dollar is shit against the Euro, that paypal is gonna take at least a buck from you, and it is gonna cost you $2 to mail it, $13 is far from expensive. In fact, $15 ppd is a fair price for vinyl, far fairer than $15 for a CD, especially if your vinyl pressing is under 1000.

$15 ppd is a fair price for imported vinyl. I think it's a bit much for domestic product though, unless it's limited run shit with screened covers or something.

The wholesale on domestic vinyl LP is $7 - 9 now.  Add 50 cents to each LP to cover shipping. 

Then to sell it, add $2 for post, 50 cents for mailer, and a buck for paypal. The cost for the LP bought at $7 is now $11.  For a record bought wholesale at $9 the cost is $13. 

A $2 - 3 mark up on that is very very small, certainly not gouging.

With 7"s going for an average of $3 wholesale, add paypal and shipping fees and the $5 ppd 7" is sold from mail orders at a loss.

The only way a mail order is able to make a decent mark up is if it gets big orders. But when you deal with ones and twos, the big orders just pay for the loss on the single orders.

If this were the real world and not hobbytown, domestic 7"s would mail order at $8 and LPs at $15, imports at $20 - 25.

As it is these things are getting susidized by kindly old men like moi.
