Last 2 copies sold on Discogs for around 7-8 GBP; is insurance essential? And is it punk as fuck?

Funny: http://www.vinyltap.co.uk/glad-to-be-gay

Discogs bullshit! Basically 2 very naive sellers
You think the Vinyl Tap sale is funny?
Look at this: http://www.popsike.com/TOM-ROSE-AND-ANNIE-TOM-ROBINSON-Glad-To-Be-Gay-7-Campaign-For-Homos/131727318799.html
Then ask yourself how many times you've seen this record?
No it's not Punk as fuck, but Tom Robinson has never been punk. It's more of a historical document
.............& YES insurance is essential, because there's no way I'm selling this for pennies

Well fair enough. My flippancy was more confusion than anything else.
However, its a head-scratcher for sure. What makes it so appealing?
Genre rarities I can understand (KBD, psych, free jazz etc.) or weird oddities maybe but I'm guessing this is fairly conventional musically and Tom Robinson isn't particularly collectable is he? Perhaps its status as a significant gay cultural artefact?
Either way - nice find.

Many artists, no matter how shit they may seem will often have some kind of hardcore fan base, & whilst 99.9% of Tom Robinson's music is completely worthless, it's that very obscure 0.1% which has value. There's no punk here, in fact it's actually folk, which is a collectable genre in its own right. It's also a private pressing SRT release, & of course there's the big gay thing now which is suddenly very fashionable & which Tom Robinson played his part for 'gay rights'. Which is pretty funny considering he's now 'turned straight'...
Basically, as I said. It's more a historical document, or "collectors piece" (a term I really despise!)

im pretty sure its more along the lines of 1 naive buyer. you could just look at the fact there are only 4 wants for the release. the fact the popsike record only shows one bid is suspect to me. why would someone's first bid be over 500 dollars. good luck i guess

I imagine that's probably the explanation......
