Happy New Year everyone. 2006 was a good year and 2007 is promising to be even more insane. First off, little Milo Dufresne showed up January 2nd - good little dude, happy to have him around for the ride. Lots of other great personal stuff going on but won’t bore you with details. Records! Records! And more Records. Loads of new releases in the works including a number of excellent 7” records which I am extremely happy about. Also new distribution in Europe which should mean a significant increase in the availability of DERANGED releases through out Europe. More information on that coming shortly.

CAREER SUICIDE- Both the vinyl and CD of this classic are now out. I am expecting my copies of the vinyl to arrive in the coming week at which point pre-orders will be mailed out.
It's hard to believe but after five years and a whole slew of vinyl, Toronto's CAREER SUICIDE have produced their finest record yet! The combination of machinegun drumming from Brandon Ferrell (Direct Control, Government Warning) and raw but crystal clear production from Jon Drew (Fucked Up "generation" and "Hidden World") make this LP a classic. CS manages to combine catchy 'Killed By Death' styled punk sing alongs like the title track and the raw speed and power of early hardcore whilst overwhelmingly maintaining and refining their own sound. Superb songwriting is definitely the key; there are no thirty-second-thrash filler songs here! You will find this whole LP permanently roaring through your brain. It is tighter, louder, harder, and more realized than any of the CS releases which preceded it, so do yourself a favor and pick up the best but hopefully not last LP from CAREER SUICIDE. TRANZMITORS – The album has been recorded, mixed and mastered. Killer pop album goes into production this month, should be out in March. Both their ‘bigger houses’ 7” on Deranged and their 7” on LATIDA have been repressed with a slightly different cover, I will have copies in the online store next week.
VIOLENT ARREST – their s/t 12” is now out and getting flash response – here is what the NO WAY records folks had to say ‘This is one damn good 12". Brought to by fellas that used to be in RIPCORD and HERESY so obviously this would be the case. They are named after a FREEZE song but sound more on the end of SSD and a little NEGATIVE FX. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT stuff here. NITAD – Stockholm, Sweden 2005 - Nitad is born as a result of boredom, and a way for these old punk rockers to get back to their roots, and a common interest of drinking alcohol. After all, Nitad is the Swedish word for wasted... The members can also be found in bands such as Nine, Dims Rebellion, Revelling Blind and more...
The 7inch, called "Världen måste dö" (The world must die) on Deranged Records represents the best of the band's songs to date taken from two demo sessions. If you take one part of old US-hardcore (Black Flag, MIA, Zero Boys etc) and mix it in a blender together with early Scandinavian punk (Ebba Grön, KSMB, Tervet Kädet etc) and sing it in Swedish you get a rough idea of what it's all about. Expect more releases by NITAD on Deranged in the near future. You can listen to three tracks from this 7” at www.myspace.com/nitadstockholm Test presses have been approved, covers are already here, this will be out by mid February or earlier. There are 100 copies on red vinyl. The band has screened 5 shirts with gold ink which will be raffled off from those who pre-order this item (yes you can include other stuff with your order and still be eligible). BRUTAL KNIGHTS - Their 2nd album ‘ FEAST OF SHAME ‘ is due out in February. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Similarly, when Brutal Knights hands you a new album called Feast Of Shame, make piss in your pants, because you should be excited. The Toronto fivesome, whose debut LP(The Pleasure Is All Thine, also on Deranged Records) established them as being immature for their age, has continued making music, resulting in the 14 songs recorded by Jon Drew at Toronto’s Signal To Noise studios (FUCKED UP ‘hidden world’, Career Suicide ‘attempted suicide’) and then mixed by musician Jay Reatard in Memphis. The arduous kampf that went into this release is probably what sent drummer Msgzus packing, although not before laying down awesome drumwork for the LP. Feast of Shame features BRUTAL KNIGHTS at their best – faster, rawer and dumber than before with the production to boot! By the way, there are songs about food on this album (“The Perfect Buffet”). There are also songs about haters (You’re Fired[I Quit]).There are also songs about being randy(every song on the album). There are also songs about not being emotionally or physically strong (“So Weak”). There are also songs about losing weight (“Bikini Diet”). The way the songs sound is like a peanut butter and white bread sandwich being eaten Lady and The Tramp-style by Joel Madden and Wendy O. Williams, while Jon Sharron sits and lets the image inspire riffs, and Nick Flanagan is also there, writing a rhyming article about the whole thing. Sorry, it will not cure your STDs. TERMINAL STATE - Some delays with the new 7”. The band decided to revise the original cover layout which at this point still needs to be finalized but they have provided me with a limited edition cover for the white vinyl copies. For those who have pre-ordered from the online store, expect your copy shortly. I am expecting the official layout this week which means the 7” will be ready for mid February. Expect a Terminal State CD soonish and a full length at some point in 2007.
