I have two.  I bought my first in 2000 or thereabouts and it's been nothing but a total champ.  The only downside is that it's fully manual so if you're like me, you'll pass out drunk and wake up hours later to find the record still spinning and feel bad for your needle.  They make an auto reject add on thing, but it's spendy as fuck.

The second one I bought about 3 years ago and it kind of sucks.  The platter doesn't have a hole cut in it so everytime you wanna change speeds you have to lift the whole thing off to adjust the belt instead of just lifting the slipmat.  Also, the tone arm lever stopped working about a year ago.  Annoying.

I'd do some more looking or try and find an older model.

I'd love to throw down on a nice nice table someday, but I keep blowing all the cash on records.

My buddy has one. He likes it, sounds great, looks cool but he said the biggest pain in the ass is switching from 45 to 33. Not sure if it’s the same one you’re looking at but he said it gets to the point where he’ll only listen to 45s, then switch it and only listen to 33s since it isn’t easy to switch back and forth.

If you’re in the $300 range, I’d go for the Audio Technica modeled after the Technics MK1200s.

Shit's free on YouTube. Fuck buying records. Pay money for some shit + hope they'll collectable later on? No. Fuck that. Instant & free. OK. Collecting shit is for people who think they are gonna live forever and I ain't. I don't think I'll be alive 3 or more months from now. Why the fuck I own a turntable and collect records? Stupid shit.

If you're in the market for a belt-driven table, this one Fluance offers is 50 bucks cheaper and has been in constant use at my home for about 12 months now. http://www.fluance.com/rt81-high-fidelity-vinyl-turntable-record-player-with-premium-cartridge-diamond-needle

I have recently bought a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB (DC) . It has a built in speed box so you can change speed at the touch of a . button. It has manual return of the tonearm, so I am thinking of getting one of the arm lifting gadgets.
Sound quality is streets ahead of my 30 year old Technics deck. I am sure 30 years of live rock has ruined my ears some what, but I loving the rich full sound it is giving my vinyl.

If there was a model for under $1000 that had a S shaped tone arm I would have pulled the trigger on one already.

why is it so hard to find a new turntable with low wow and flutter with an s shaped tone arm ? :(

1) It sounds comparatively like shit via YouTube.

2) Artists are not supported via YouTube plays.

3) Plenty of folks outlast their own expectations of mortality. When it's time to live life a little less recklessly, things like good books and records come in very handy.

While I got no problem with artists choosing to spend their money on stuff other than people's records or whatever, it's not a sustainable model when it's a generation of folks instead of struggling artists who take that path.

Look dawg, you're posting on an online forum in 2017. There is no way you are a "live fast, die fast" kinda guy. Unless you are terminally ill or hooked up to some sort of complex medical device I'm fairly certain you'll still be posting dumb shit on Termbo for many years to cum.

As far as collecting records goes, a wise bumper sticker once read "He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins". True dat.

I stopped buying vinyl and with the advent of youtube, I don't really pay for media anymore. Mainly because I am poor. I certainly don't begrudge those who buy vinyl, and small press record labels need all the support they can get. I just let other people do it for me.

I used to think I would live fast and die young. Thinking you could go at any moment is romantic, but the reality is you will probably just get older and lamer. Such is life.

Excellent question. Let me know if you come up with something.

I listened to Afterbirth's Whos In There 7" on this turntable, and let me tell you I heard tones coming from Celestial's bass that I never noticed after 30 years of spinning it.
