Hoping someone can help with this.
My record player started having issues where it was cutting frequencies. Almost like it was separating the stereo tracks. Followed by bursts of loudness and quiet. This was mainly happening on louder records. I played a Nick Drake LP no issues but any punk records it?s pretty much doing this consistently. I don?t think it?s the receiver since tapes are not having the same issues. I bought a new cartridge but it?s not helping.
It?s an Audio Technica maybe 15 years old at this point. Anyone have any ideas on what might be happening?

Have you checked the AV cords that plug into the receiver themselves? Like pulled them out, then popped them back in? If it's not the cartridge, it could be the cords. I've had a couple of issues with these on turntables. Connection could be bad/cords could be shot.

I?ll check those next, thanks!
