Driving me insane today trying to remember this record and need some assistance.
Mystery KBD oddball hardcore 7" from SLC/1980s. I think it was featured on 5 Minutes to Live or some other similar long gone blog site. I want to say the name of the band was Excel, but obviously not the Brit/SoCal band and I don't think this was comped and/or reissued. Discogs/Google searches proved fruitless.
Any help?

Thanks for all the suggestions and sorry to drive anyone crazy over this, but these aren't it.
Still looking...

Well if you ever get your answer, please post it or DM me.
The only other things that came to mind from that time period that I know of that kinda fit your description are The Boards, but they didn't release a 7" in their time, there was just a posthumous CD collection.
There was the Atheists, but I'm pretty sure they just released a demo or had a couple comp tracks - I've never come across either, just been told about them, and I believe they were described to me as being more DEVO-esque.
Bad Yodellers were post-Massacre Guys, but didn't have vinyl out until the early-90's (and it sucks), but their mid-80's demo is killer and worthy of a vinyl reissue - probably too late for what you're looking for.
L.D.S. had a 7" and an LP and were kind of a mid-80's death rock / hardcore hybrid.
The name Excel doesn't really ring any bells.

Here's what I remember: this was featured on some long lost blog on impossible to find 80's hardcore rarities, a 7" with a sleeve, probably some trust fund kids who happened to release a record that turned out to be decent 80s skate punk.
I searched all my old bookmarks/links and could not find the blog but found tons of dead links that provide some clue as to where I saw this, places like:

killedbyhype
killfromtheheart
Dammit--hate when I can't find stuff!!

Thanks all, but unfortunately, this mystery will have to go unsolved for now until I happen across whatever blog tipped me to this record.
