"Ridin' in a Stutz Bearcat, Jim,
Those were different times."
I probably listened to "Sweet Jane" on a Sony Walkman about a thousand times through the angst of 15-16. But I never knew this was the lyric. And I didn't know what a Stutz Bearcat was until I looked it up (it's a vintage car).
Always be learning.

Those old timey car horns that made the “cayuuuuuuga” noise were designed to not scare horses, just let them know a car was next to them since horse buggies and cars shared the road for some time.
CD’s had the elongated cardboard packages so they could be displayed on LP racks since many retailers did not change their shelving over to CD sized shelves. Later, the long plastic security cases took over that role.

i remember when i first heard that song, and was singing it in bands, it was from MottTheHoople. i didnt hear the VU version until years later. probably not until '96 or '97 when i got it on CD. i only had the first VU on vinyl, but i had that MottTheHoople record when i was 12 yrs old.
