Title: Live Recording: Mystery Girls, Catholic Boys, Tears in Chicago 2003
Post by: clif on April 27, 2020, 05:08:00 PM
Another file of live recordings for you to download, or not! It seems to be all about individual rights these days. Each set is one long mp3 file. Sorry, but I don't have time be be going through each one and dividing up songs. Recorded on minidisc with clip on microphones, so don't expect "Live at Budokan" type fidelity here. It definitely fits in the budget category.I boosted all the volume, but no other sound manipulation.

Mystery Girls, Catholic Boys, Tears at Cal's in Chicago, IL on June 7, 2003

Nick Alan Paul Kalfahs Jordan Davis

Notes:

Cal's was a little dive in the middle of downtown Chicago that hosted shows for a year or so. The PA sucked, but it was a fun place to see shows. A bitch to find parking for out of towners though, but that's neither here no there. Saw some fun shows there.

Mystery Girls were on fire this night. Probably the best I ever saw them The perfect balance of loose and rocking. There were doing songs from the first 2 albums and ended with a medley of Them Changes/ Empty Heart/ TV Eye/ Interstellar Overdrive that was Wah-wah overdrive supreme. Definitely worth a listen to anyone even remotely into them.

Tears opened the show and were loud, tight and killer. One of three times I saw them (another time coming soon) and the best. Includes an unreleased (Unrecorded?) song. Unfortunately our heroes the Catholic Boys had a rough night here and cut their set short.

I have more coming, but will take a break to allow my dropbox to breath. I don't know if anyone cares or is even listening to these, but I feel better launching these recordings out to the public to at least be ignored and not just languish in a box in my house.

Enjoy
