Alright, so I have been using this extra time at home to sort, transfer, and catalog my live concert recordings. Here is a local show that a feel some would like to hear/have. Some of you may still have a disc Jeff or I gave you back in the day, others may have once had and since lost that disc. Here is a fresh transfer for anyone who wants.
Show:
Goodnight Loving / Jukeboyds / Demolition Derby @ Paulie's in Bloomington, IL on August 2, 2004
Notes:
I decided to set up a show for these newish Wisconsin bands and asked Demolition Derby to open up because they rule. Still not sure why I had the local band open the show, but this was one of my first shows so hopefully the Derby weren't too pissed.Cube called them Demolition Doobie from the stage and that stuck all night. Chopper on drums,.
I heard a recorded conversation that this was the second out of state show for both of these bands, but I cannot remember if that is true or not. Goodnight Loving play a short set. ALl they had out at this point was a cdr demo that still sounds really good. They began by quoting Demolition Derby lyrics they had just heard, so DD makes more fans all the time.
Jukeboyds were a great, energetic band that eventually kind of morphed with Goodnight Loving, fleshing out GL's sound. I was on a kick for a while of hanging my mic's by the soundboard. This works fine if no one sits near them, or (in this case) the bar doesn't us that area to start cleaning. There are loud sounds of the bottle being thrown away near there through a lot of the Jukeboyds recording. THe vocals are pretty muffled too. I feel bad because this band was really good and somewhat short lived. The made a demo that still sounds really good too.
because he probably knows some of these dudes and if they would want to hear these recordings too. Both bands crashed at my house and Andy's dad was chaperoning them on this tour as about half of them were underage. He was a cool dude and we talked for quite a while that night. Good guy.
Once again all sets are available to download as one long track if you hit the "MORE" button.
Enjoy
