On May 29, Drag City presents the first band-authorized, professionally remastered reissue of No Trend's 1983 nihilistic, anti-everything noise-punk classic Too Many Humans LP, paired in a box set w/the 1984 Teen Love 12-inch and the 1983 Skin Shedding "Snake People"... 7-inch debut. Comes w/a 2xCD containing most of the above plus two complete, unreleased TMH-era live sets (Mabuhay Gardens and Cathay de Grande) and the full 1983 demos.
Way better sound quality (remastering by Carl Saff and Denis Blackham [aka Porky Prime]) and far more handsomely packaged than the recent bootlegs. Includes additional material, too.
The set also comes w/a perfect-bound, 40-page book that comprehensively details the early history of the band, complete w/extensive, recent interviews w/NT's enigmatic, elusive founders Jeff Mentges and Bob Strasser, as well as a ton of photos and archival reading. Liner notes by the late John Stabb (Government Issue), coproducer Buck Parr (NT guitar, 1985-1986), and coproducer/music writer Jordan Mamone. Plus recollections by everyone from Lydia Lunch to filmmaker Jeff Krulik (Heavy Metal Parking Lot).
Also included is the booklet from the French pressing of TMH, the original No Trend fanzine (aka the infamous "dance book"), a business card, an employment application, and a few other surprises. All in one elegant package.
Ten years in the making!
