Here is a picture of me playing a NAME BRAND GUITAR in Paris, France. The VINTAGE Fender Twin you see behind me blew up later that night and once belonged to Kind Congo Powers and was his European tour amp in the Cramps.
This is a thread to discuss your expensive "name brand guitar" stories.

Andrew told me he will give me all the unreleased DC Snipers trax he recorded to bootleg.
Taking pre-orders yesterday.
OOP.
Your posts this week are pretty (http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a339/macapples/Graemlins/bananas.gif), Aaron. Thumbs up from me.
Dude, that looks alot like this guitar this guy I just met in Columbus named Nick (used to drum for Gaunt near the end) had. His had a little tail on it.
Lets practice this weekend to solidify it steve.
i heard a story about EricApnea when he lived in the slummy part of milwaukee at the house that Brock got shot... titled respectively on the latest holy shit! album. moving on... at one point or another a crackhead that was aware of punk kids living at this house stopped by one day with an original 70's telecaster and some other guitar. sold it to eric for 5bucks.I was at Eric's one night and some crack heads came into the party and stole my friends cell phone. They came back later asking us if we knew where the phone's charger was. When confronted about stealing the phone they gave Trace the option of handing over $7 for the phone, or getting shot. Trace was out $7
The gun was never actually brought out, so who knows if he really had one.
i played a harmony bobkat for a while but it was too fuckin small i dont get why they did that shit. for kids or something?
I wanna know more about the wristband. Or do I have to start another thread for that?
That WAS crucial. Also I wonder how many other people on this board have played/blown up that same NAME BRAND amp. We pissed off some corny band in Germany? Sweden? and they stole the fuses out of it.
It's Suspicious Karen!

OH SHIT!!!!! Whats up?!?!?
i always use this NAME BRAND Epiphone[/img]
There's a semi-interesting story about Go Buddy.
About 4 years ago my mom calls me and tells me there is this guitar at an antique store near her house that is only 100 bucks and it looks all something I'd be in to.
I go up to Tin City Antiques and check it out. I'm baffled by it and buy it on the spot.
Nobody could figure out what kind of guitar it was. I was sure it was a Hagstrom, other people thought it was a Teisco or possibly an EKO, and if they were a fucking idiot they'd think it was a Harmony.
So, everyone was clueless and nobody could agree on what it was.
My friend Brendon lost his job shortly after I bought it and decided his new goal in lfe was to find out what kind of guitar it was. He took tons of pictures of it and sent them to different vintage guitar websites. I think it was either myrareguitars.com or some place that responded with a for sure answer. They mailed him a picture of a guitar almost the exact same, the only difference was that it only had two picks ups, not two groups of two for mother fucking humbucking! I had some rare deluxe version of an already rare guitar.
So... the guitar is a Guyatone from the mid 60s.
It sounds kind of shitty but I still use it. It's always my back up at shows.
There are some decent larrivee models that are fairly reasonable used and sound like much more expensive guitars. I have one that would be perfect other than the neck being a bit too thin. Still, it was worth it for the money.

Two of my room mates used to work at the larivee factory. I don't know if I'd trust a guitar they built.
I have never owned a name brand guitar. I wonder if that means I am just poor or if I don't hang out in the right thrift shops to find $50 Les Paul Jr.'s.

guess what? I totally dig name brand guitars now. amps too. still own none.
The opening bid was $795. The $1300 is because of those bidding on it.yeah but I still think there's something untruthful about with dude's story. I dont know what or how that was caused but I seriously doubt it was lightning.
Also, I doubt placing a guitar near a flame would cause the bottom of the neck to blow out like it did.
I dont know what or how that was caused
I lost on that other ebay guitar.. ended up buying this one, any ideas of what it is? Even the seller isn't sure..
Apparently it's a 60/70s Japanese build. So I am imagining it to be a Teisco or Guyatone or Silvertone or something
like that..

Has anyone ever played one?
Anybody play those phantom guitars from Oregon? Thinking about getting one.
Anyone play those Eastwood guitars? I thought about getting their Mosrite knockoff since its plenty cheaper than a real Mosrite.

The couple Eastwood's I've played on have felt pretty solid, Daniel from Wax Museums uses an Eastwood Mosrite and last I heard he dug it.
Finally got my phantom yesterday. It's awesome! Was a little worried about ordering a guitar without trying it out, but it feels great. Best guitar I've ever played. The case is really cool, too.
I have an Epiphone Les Paul Junior

As long as your dragging up old shit here, I recently had a new hole routed into one of these and stuck a P-90 in the neck position. Replaced the tone pot with a blend pot for pick up selection.
My ex girlfriend: (I dumped her because she said she thought Like Flies On Sherbert was just "okay")

Nice. How's it sound?
I've been thinking about getting a new one to finally make an NES Paul.
