Music Shit / Re: Can anyone ID this record?
« on: April 03, 2017, 07:22:18 AM »
Could it be Malickis Happy Corn Club?

A lyric in the song matches a quote apparently attributed to a chap called Paul Bernardo, and the Malickis apparently did do a song about him
http://www.angelfire.com/ma/bradocreamedcorn/MHCCtopten.html
and their Beatport page
https://www.beatport.com/release/outlander%21-outlander%21-we-have-your-music%21/1679351
kinda has them sounding similar.

Yes! Thanks. It was driving me up the wall.

I've had a brain fade. There was an IDBI-related single in 1979 - the band was quite possibly managed by DAM manager David Keeps - but I can't remember the artist/title. The band's name was something *like* 'Terminal Cheesecake'. Or maybe something with 'Strawberry' in it. The sleeve was (I think) some kinda colourful collage. I have it, that I know; I just don't know what it is. Can anyone help, please?

Music Shit / Re: Best show you never went to in your life and why

Sex Pistols, Swansea (September 1976). Vivid memory of looking longingly at the advert in the local paper on the day of the gig but I didn't know anyone else who was interested and, at 15, I wasn't allowed to go on my own cos the club had a bad rep..

Used Records For Sale/Auctions/Wantlists / Re: Sleeves/vinyl needed

Need a "Justifiable Homicide" sleeve with the Cook/Jones credit... which, absolutely astoundingly, does actually exist. I rubbed my eyes (twice) and briefly questioned my sanity... but, yep, it exists. Gobsmacked.

Hummmph. Today I'm back to wearing a dull local-rock-club T. It's not the same. But all day yesterday, with that T on, I wished I'd made the solo on this twice as long:

Did I mention I'm wearing a 1977 A&M promo Frampton "I"m In You" T-shirt right now?

Music Shit / Re: Artists you have the most records by.

do you people have multiple copies of the same record? own record stores/distros? how else can one own 150 records no matter the format of Poison Idea?

Of course. I have more than 30 copies of the first Velvets album, all different, and none later than mid-80s. Sometimes, you know, it's nice to listen to the withdrawn 80s version with the really badly muffled mastering on one side. Variety is the spice of life!

All i want is someboby doing a P45 single with "just a another teenage Love Song" on both side!

that's it!

That would be tidy.

25 pounds

I'd be willing to pay $100 if anyone is flipping.

Thanks Matc, Just got off from work record is long gone.  And one sold in the UK on egay for $64.  Just my luck

Thanks Marc. Unfortunately just got off work, record is long gone.

Fret not, I'd say. I suspect there might be multiple copies along soon enough. Certainly the once very rare Evening Outs single, stock of which was 'found' at the same time (and I'm guessing by the same people), seems to be quite readily available at the moment. I'm not in the loop on this one at all, but...

So I was just checking the site for news on Bale/Rooney/Michu-to-Arsenal and got waylaid by Johan's thing on his new book. What do Termbros think of the beard?

Music Shit / Re: so there's a new STOOGES studio album out...

On Wednesdays, our local 'rock' club has bands playing for free in the cafe. If it's 'The Stooges' one week, I'll go.

I was quite happy that I have all a full set of Slash magazines... until today, when I now see that I'm missing the First Year Anniversary issue. Grrr....

I'm uncomfortable with the notion that MPO were up for pressing only 100 copies.

Only know the "Do It" one. On the sleeve of the later "Hoky Poky" one they're already starting to look like New Kids On The Block which makes me dubious...
