A kid from first school's older brother was rumoured to be called Russell, the surname was Sprout. Russell Sprout. Never did find out if it was true.

They'll fuck it up. The movie was terrible, the second half of the second season is patchy.

I bet Audrey, Donna and Shelly are all still smoking hot though.

Leatherface once appeared in the English soap Emmerdale but with an actor masquerading as their singer. They played a band called Shrine who were mistakenly booked to play the town hall. "We're a gospel band, ain't we, lads?".

I still wouldn't spill Frankie's pint.

Jive Time is great. It's a few doors from Ophelia's Books which was a cool bookshop with a cool bookshop cat. Fremont in general seems a sound place.

I found Singles Going Steady too expensive - that did include doing the mental maths going from pound to dollar. Records are typically cheaper in the States but I would have paid through the snouts in there for anything I wanted.

There's another shop that I can't remember the name or location of, nor is google helping me find it. Not very useful to you, I know.

I saw a tattoo on Instagram of a heart with a scroll across it that said 'BRUNCH'. That's pretty brunch.

Massive, massive fan of Seth's work. He's pretentious as hell (he is aware of how absurd he is, whoever) but I love the rhythm of his stories and the draughtsmanship of his work cannot be denied. Such beautiful, sad line work and his colours are always perfect. Wimbledon Green and The Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists are a light-hearted and playful counterpoint to It's a Good Life, If You Don't Weaken, Clyde Fans and George Sprott.

Chester Brown's stuff is great - reread Paying For It recently, his take on paying for sex. His biography of Louis Riel is sitting in my to-read pile.

I've only seen And It Felt Like a Kiss and All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace and loved them both.

"Firing Squad" by CAN Subhumans is a great fucking song.

I want my funeral bookended with Firing Squad and Moon Over Marin. The two fit together in my mind.

Lyres, The Wipers and Descendents.

My last break-up was in Hawaii, though. So I just listened to the most ugly bands I could to drown out the sunny, surfbro beauty of the place. The Wankys got some play.

I always liked this version of Shake Some Action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7aoWX8ENT0

It sounds like Psychedelic Furs covering Flamin' Groovies. Which is fine by me.

I saw UK Subs earlier this year. Charlie Harper is in his 70s and still has a lot of charisma. He looks like a punk Mo Mowlem (deceased British politician) and everyone loves Warhead. Penetration and Buzzcocks played the same bill and they were both great.

Also got tickets for Agnostic Front recently and was expecting them to be terrible. They were a little cheesy but their energy couldn't be denied and I love the songs. It was a smaller venue than I expected and the crowd went mental for them. I always assumed they'd be massive brutes, Vinnie Stigma is tiny!

Er, don't have any bad stories. The Exploited were shit and a bunch of arseholes. That's all I've got.

Music Shit / Re: Fave bands of Scotland?

Always think of miserable indie when I think of Scotland. And it's only thirty minutes from here. I work/visit up there pretty regularly and YOU BASTARDS BETTER NOT LEAVE US.

Song, by Toad is one of my favourite labels but I can't see it appealing to TermBo much. Meursault are one of my favourite live bands, the singer has such an intensity to him.

Political Asylum
Shop Assistants
Fire Engines
Oi Polloi had their moments.

And someone is sure to bring up:

THE EXPLOITED

Strong Reaction is a 90's classic.

It was between Strong Reaction and Cha Cha Damore. Dangermare swung it for me
