New shit from Rochester is pretty cool: http://jellymusicinc.bandcamp.com/album/live-bait-cs

Not super into the new Lumpy record but they're a hit and miss for me in general. But the Glitter Joy of a Toy 7" is really cool.

I started watching Boardwalk Empire. I'm on season 3 and it's good so far. I wasn't too sure I would be into it since its a time-period show but it doesn't push it in your face nearly as much as, say, Vinyl. I also have been watching The Shield, which has the dirt-bike-music-cop-show vibe but I don't think it's actually glorifying the loose-cannon-kinda-crooked-but-for-good-reasons-cops which is tite.

I've only heard Throb Throb but it was real cool. I remember I used to be obsessed with the cover art when I was in middle school.

I am almost done with No Beast So Fierce by Edward Bunker, diggin' it! Anybody read any of his other books? Next up, gonna tackle Ulysses by James Joyce.
Ulysses is easily one of the best books ever published. I think all the accolades it gets are all well deserved.

Institute "Catharsis," I just got the record. I'm not super kept up on new punk outside of upstate NY but this band is tite.
Simon & Garfunkel "Sound of Silence." Never listened before last night except what I've heard on the radio. It was cool but I gtta listen again.

The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner, which is incredible in almost every facet.
The Third Policeman by Flann O'Brien, which is pretty good so far. But I've only read the first chapter. I guess as James Joyce was going blind he read one of Flann O'Brien's books with a magnifying glass.
Then I've just been going through Hemingway's short stories.

Watched Persona for the first time a couple weeks ago.  Still reeling a bit.
Bergman, I assume? I just watched Cries and Whispers, and the Seventh Seal and thought they were awesome.

all the advertisements I saw on HBO about Vinyl promised crime drama too... i wanted to see the DJ Cool Herc story arc play out. no time-period drama is gonna be accurate with trivia, and I doubt they were really trying to be. not super disappointing though because HBOGo just put Mr. Show on there (atleast I think they did so recently).

also loved the second season of True Detective. that show is tite.

wait, are you supposed to pronounce "neu!" as "noi?"

ANAL CUNT doing E.M.F.'s "Unbelievable". The vocals actually sound like a flushing terlet.

You sure you're not thinking of Killdozer here?

First time I heard it I laughed, second time forward I thought it was actually pretty kick-ass. Same with a lot of Killdozer covers.
Yeah, you're probably right! I'm gonna amend that post: ANAL CUNT doing EDDIE GRANT's "I Don't Wanna Dance".

"For Ladies Only" is an outstanding comedy/party record.

what about the Anal Cunt cover of the Theme from Three's Company?
