Got into punk through grunge in Year 7, 1994 . Started getting into "surf video punk" but thankfully my record collector older brother was uncovering older punk at the same time and therefore got me into classic Ramones, Descendents, Misfits, Angry Samoans and then the Crypt catalogue came along. No one at my high school had any idea what punk was but then I found out Metallica fans knew who the Misfits were. So I was in a band that performed: Seek and Destroy, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Seek and Destroy and Am I Evil (Chaos A.D. encore) once during lunch break. At the time I was trying to convince them that "I'm Useless" by The Queers would be a good cover.

I sold all my Lost Sounds stuff but kept the 1+1=Nothing 7". The A-side is just perfect and "Memphis is Dead" is brutal.

My high school metal band played at lunch break one day. We played Seek and Destroy, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Am I Evil, Refuse Resist and an original that sounded incongruously like the Cosmic Psychos. Most attendees agreed we were better than the other band that played, who were all Clapton/Zep/RHCP nerds with expensive gear.
