Looks like a case of lowering the bar a fuckload in order to then raise it a bit.

I like the new Case Studies a lot.
Quite dissapointed with this one. Big fan of The Duchess & The Duke but to me this sound like every other boring, MOJO & Uncut approved singer/songwriter. Decent I guess but the magic is gone
Edit: Just realized this is the second Case Studies album. Might be a tad unfair to compare them to The Duchess & The Duke which are a rather different beast.
interesting. i reckon of the four records i listed it would come in only third in the whooping cacophany stakes.bright ideas saturdays and the turning tide (squirmy)Only heard that Deep Time this morning on the commute to work ...absolute utter trust-fund GUFF!... So bad i came on here just to say it wasted a good twenty minutes of my life; and to suggest other people avoid a similar fate... I bet that vocalist thinks she's the fucking shit. And the band actually thinks they're actually writing songs to accompany her whooping cacophony.... Definitely a Pitchfork 8+'er though I'd reckon...

Be warned.
Whooping Cacophony!
It reminds me of a VIZ comic Top Tip from last month: "Music fans. Make your own Florence And the Machine album by locking an owl in a wind chime shop"

the Kenneth Higney, after a few spins, is OK, but the sound ceremony LP hits on a lot of levels.
