I'm looking to put out a 7" for my band. Has anyone on here ever used them or knows someone who has? I'm pricing and checking out all the usuals (United & Archer) but am curious to hear anything positive or negative about Palomino

Jawbox Novelty is pretty good. I like Fugazi's "In On The Kill Taker" which came out in 1993. Lungfish's Talking Songs for Walking has at least one good song- Friend To Friend in Endtime, if only because it reminds me of "Are Friends Electric?"

Somewhat related note: I met Jeff Nelson at my work the other day. He was stoked that I was playing the Saints in the bowling alley. They are one of his favorite bands

The intro to "I'm Bad" from LL Cool J's second album "Bigger and Deffer"

(Calling all cars, calling all cars...)
(Be on the lookout for a tall light-skinned brother with dimples)
(Wearing a black kangol, sweatsuit, gold chain, and sneakers)
(Last seen on Farmers Boulevard headed east)
(Alias L.L. Cool J)
(He's bad...)

played a show w/ Jello's new band on Saturday.  Wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly suprised. The guitar player was the dude from Victims Family and the bass player was from the Rollins Band, among other bands. They did a few DK songs which were cool, but I was really impressed with his new bands stuff.  I even broke down and  bought an AT logo t shirt

Friends of Rock N Roll is one of the best songs to come out of Detroit in the last 10 years. It bums me out how much that band is slept on.

The intro to Musta Got Lost on "Live Blow Your Face Out" is easily my favorite live song on record EVER.  When they did that song the other night, Peter Wolf did the intro but complained that Reputa doesn't even call him, she text messages him now.

What's the general opinion of them on this board? I went to see them the other night and they were AMAZING! And the crowd, oh the crowd! Looked as though everyone's sketchy uncle showed up for the concert.

Music Shit / Re: what's the best gaunt record?
« on: July 11, 2010, 06:41:38 PM »
I remember liking Bricks and Blackouts, at least the song "The 97th Tear".  "I Can See Your Mom From Here" is a keeper as well.

I have a soft spot for Gaunt ever since they snuck me into Lounge Axe to see them and the Fastbacks in 95 (I was only 19 at the time). The Riverdales opened up but I missed them

Yeah, his family's roots are finnish. His dad looks kinda like Clarence Boddicker. We're all pretty proud of him in Detroit
