Forgive the self-promotion but I'm going to be commandeering the airwaves at my old stomping grounds this upcoming Tuesday March 30th from Noon to 230pm (Damn you Cal Baseball!) I'll be playing several rarities in the areas of glam, bubblegum, punk (including several nice "45 Revolutions" pickups)and other related records that many of you who are smarter than I had recommended over the last couple of years.  If you're within earshot, KALX is 90.7 FM on the radio dial and can be heard via internet at www.kalx.berkeley.edu

I hope some of you will give it a listen.

Apologies in advance for the SPAM.

However, I've decided to cut the prices of my entire catalog  by 20% over at my GEMM "store", Pop Con records.  This will be in effect until Sunday February 28th, 2010.

I'm just trying to pare down my collection a little more quickly in advance of a big move.  Hopefully, some of you may find something of interest.  If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to PM me.

Thanks!

Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Vaselines Reunion Gig
« on: May 07, 2008, 06:03:09 PM »
For all you twee C86 aficionados:

http://www.nme.com/news/vaselines/36456

Doesn't say if it's just going to be a one-off or the start of something else.

It'd be nice if they chose to play a few dates in the US.  I don't recall them making it to the West Coast.  (Or CMJ or SXSW...)

Just saw this in today's SF Chronicle.  Looks like that as of 2/20/08, most insertion fees will be reduced by 5 cents (big whoop) and the kicker is that eBay will now take a 8.75% cut at the end of an auction, up from 5.25%.  There's more, but I think for most sellers here at TB, it's going to cost considerably more.  For more details see link below or go to eBay announcement page.

Music Shit / New Wave Rotten Record Charts 1980-82
« on: July 11, 2007, 09:13:59 AM »
I've got a question for you better informed people.  I stumbled across close to 80 (No's 120-197 incluseive) of the old "New Wave Rotten Record Charts" that Dirk Dirksen of the Mab used to put out in the SF Bay area.  These are from November 1980 through May 1982.  My naive question is--are these worth anything??  They're in pretty good shape for 25 year old 8 1/2" by 14" sheets of paper.  My cursory search on the 'net didn't help me very much.

TIA
