HS007: Ancient Crux - "Stage Fright" CS
Following up splits with Weed Diamond & Ouija and his debut EP, Interracial Coupling, Ancient Crux?s Travis Von Sydow returns with his second extended play. Stage Fright showcases undocumented territory that is not touched upon on any other Ancient Crux release. From the swirling organ on the title track to the post punk rhythms of ?Man Running? or the french pop-esque feel of ?Alma Reville?.  Stage Fright is an eclectic mix of songs and it showcases Von Sydow?s songwriting ability. Includes bonus recording of an Ancient Crux live set at Pehrspace in Los Angeles, CA. Pro-printed covers/labels and hand scored. Artwork by Travis Von Sydow. (Originally released as a CDR on Bridgetown Records.). Limited to 50 copies.


HS008: Kevin Greenspon - "Ad Seg" CS
Ad Seg is Kevin Greenspon?s first offering on Hi Shadow, it follows up his last set of complementary releases (Common Objects LP, Unveiling cassette, Rose Window cassette, and splits with Cloud Nothings and Trudgers). On Ad Seg, Greenspon offers up 3 tracks of ambient guitar work which may be some of his most devastatingly bare pieces to date, they cascade into one another building upon the last shimmering, gut-wrenching opus leaving the listener admiring Greenspon?s sense of timing and ability to craft genuine emotion through melody. Limited to 100 copies.


HS010: Trudgers / Vehicle Blues Split CS
Long in the works split between Trudgers from California and Vehicle Blues from Illinois. Trudgers utilizes melodic dissonance through interplaying and overlapping guitars, and cathartic vocals on their three contributions to the split. On the other side, Vehicle Blues? Gabe Holcombe creates smeared visions of pop songs by layering warm fuzzed guitars with nearly distant vocal melodies on his four tracks, one of which being a cover of pop master craftsmen, East River Pipe. Pro-printed covers/labels and individually hand scored. (This cassette is a split release between Hi Shadow Records and Lillerne Tapes.) Limited to 100 copies.

HS002: ANCIENT CRUX / OUIJA SPLIT CS



On this merging of two modern punk heart throbs, Ancient Crux brings some of, if not his best songs yet; smearing driving punk rhythms with big hooks all over the place. Having mastered the art of pop songwriting, AC interjects his own sense of art into the formula, for great effect (and amazingly catchy songs). Ouija, from Florida, lays down his technique on his three pieces of poetic punk. Lyrically Ouija seems a cut above the rest, he knows how to use his words and craft said words into hook-filled songs you could be singing for days. This is Ancient Crux's second release and Ouija's first release save for the inclusion on some compilations. Inner Art by ART:CMR. Limited to 100, professionally printed covers and labels. Hand numbered.

HS003:CONSIGNMENT "LAUNDRY ROOM" CS


Consignment hail from Seattle and are composed of Matt, Dena, and Andy. I first met Matt when he was playing with Meth Teeth, he was the nicest guy ever, and when we were in Seattle he let us relax out at his house and play Madden, but I digress. Consignment's Laundry Room upon listening will leave you in a lazy haze. Every song is a pop classic, and Matt's relaxed drawl drags you around with every song, whether it is the slow and brooding Country Teasers-esque "Brain" or the upbeat loner crescendos of "Do You Know". "Laundry Room" is essentially a perfect pop album, it satiates your thirst but leaves you wanting more. This is Consignment's second release following a split with The Shackles. Limited to 100, professionally printed black and white covers, and hand numbered.

Consignment has an upcoming 7'' on Sweet Rot, and an already released split with The Shackles.

HS001 - trudgers / "stag at the social" cs



Stag at the Social is a collection of 5 songs I wrote in 2007 and early 2008. They are more poppy and upbeat than the current material I have been writing. Heavily influenced by the fear of love and equally influenced by being sick. Limited to 100 black cassettes, professionally printed black and white covers, and hand numbered.

HS004 - mikura suzuki / "punished by the nina" cs (split release with family time)



Mikura Suzuki is Brent Wyman of Rapid Youth. Under this moniker, Brent has crafted some of the most infectious songs that blend everything you love about early LA death rock and the heaviest metal you've ever heard. There will be nothing else released this year that will be this simultaneously heavy and catchy. "Punished by the Nina" is Mikura Suzuki's debut release and is a split release between Riverside's darling Family Time (FAM 011) and myself. Limited to 100 tapes (80 black / 20 red), professionally printed covers, and insert on ultra grape paper. Hand numbered in gold.
