Music Shit / Can anyone ID this record?
« on: April 01, 2017, 05:47:03 PM »
I ran into a guy at a Pere Ubu show a couple years ago at the bar in the Beachland who had a box of these pink 7"s. I was curious and traded him a record I had. He gave me a short bit about what it was but I was pretty lit up and don't remember a thing, but possibly from the Cleveland area. The label art is completely worn out, there's some imperceptible stuff there, but totally unreadable. I've tried googling the lyrics to it to no avail. Totally blown out sludgy hardcore S&M shit with a bunch of samples. Finally decided to make a shitty rip and see if anyone knows.

2 hours of up to 20 people of highly disparate skill levels variously fucking around on a whole bunch of instruments at a bar last month. First event of hopefully many.

Cities / NYC 2/10-15
« on: February 03, 2016, 10:37:08 AM »
Anything going on during this time? Gonna be loafing around. Was gonna go with a friend but that didn't pan out, so just gonna be floating between friends I know in the city. Any noteworthy shows, record stores, art stuff, places of interest, general cool things to do would be appreciated. Been a couple times to play gigs and it's been mostly awful, so kinda like to enjoy myself this time.

Music Shit / RIP Nicholas Caldwell (awesome beard dude) of the Whispers

My favorite member of one of my favorite post-disco/R&B groups the Whispers kicked the bucket last week. Dude's presence in their music videos is always a highlight.

Demo Tape / Music video we did for an X-Files compilation record
« on: December 29, 2015, 01:36:11 PM »
Shot it at a motel in Yellow Springs. The old ladies were guests there and asked us to let them be extras. We partied with them afterwards and 2 of them pissed their pants. Apparently the camera was glitching out and dropping frames so the excess ramping throughout the video was done to salvage the footage.

Non-Music Shit / Christopher Lee = DEAD

The man who brought us such classic albums as "Heavy Metal Christmas" and "Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross" is no more.

Part of the RPM Challenge thing where you write and record 10 songs during Feb for the hell of it. Might not all be up Termbo's alley, but there's a few choice cuts in there. Track 2 has a Brainiac thing going, got Will Foster to do vox on track 3. There's also some assorted surf rock, weird rap, Steely Dan-sampled party bangers, country shit, GBV-rip offs, punk shit and more nonsense.

Goddamn, I would pay money to be there just to see Donald Fagan's trademark scowl of pure derision aimed out at the sons and daughters of LA scum they so deftly parodied throughout their sophisticated and immaculately produced ouevre.

"Show business kids making movies of themselves. You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else."

Tonight and tomorrow at the Beachland. Malcolm Tent, KRK Ryden and a few others tonight at the Tavern. Tomorrow at the Ballrooom a whole bunch of stuff. Jerry Casale, Amino Acids, my dumb band, the singer chick from the DEVO 2.0 thing, dude who takes Steely Dan songs and replaces the vocals with DEVO lyrics, and a ton more.

What is it about these wooden relics that sends hearts aflutter in ways modern bridges cannot?
