Music Shit / Thurston Moore and Amazon are total bitches.
« on: April 03, 2011, 07:56:20 AM »
So, at some point in the "so-long-ago-I-can't-remember" I pre-ordered, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1616234911/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=, that.  A pre-order, I had always assumed, guaranteed the product and it would fall into my loving arms sometime on or very close to the release date.  Then it got bumped back, and back again, and today, MONTHS after pre-ordering and paying for the item Amazon has gotten in touch saying there's not enough and they're going to refund me, "Soooooo-rry."  Does anyone have ANY idea what happened with this thing?  Thurston Moore or one of his affiliates or whatever has completely locked down their bullshit website, http://ecstaticpeacelibrary.com which offers no response and the only new one they have listed is for roughly three times the original asking price at $165.00, the price I figured this would probably be found at immediately after it was released for anyone who was dumb enough to be interested and not lay down money quick.  Insound still has a pre-order "Ships on or before Nov 1st", and other sites have the official publication date of 4/30/2011, the better part of a YEAR since I ordered.  This may be of ZERO interest here and float directly to the bottom of the threads.  But any info would be stupendous, thanks.

Any info on this?  Saw an issue with Minor Threat / Ian Mackaye interviews, Vol. 1 No. 25 I think at a local antique store but it's $25 bones, which is more than a dollar per page from what I've gathered from the little info online.  Thanks for any info!

Folded Shirt may be the only band going for me right now, I understand the long-shottedness of this and if it falls as a lead balloon so be it, but does anyone have and simultaneously not want their demo tape?  I will give you money for it.

So bands touring through Minneapolis/Seattle/Winnipeg/(Montana?)/Nebraska etc...  We're not just another spot on the map.  I am doing my personal best to try and bring shows back to the area.  I am stuck here and I'm not going to take it sitting down.  Seriously, we get average turnout, (you will rarely get a small crowd), and people are chomping at the bit enough to give just about any band a shot.  We also have a great venue below a VFW that books for free, pays decent and there's almost always a place to stay/party/free food WHATEVER if you get in touch with someone, (myself included, 'natch), first.  I personally would be more than happy to help book a show, otherwise there's a couple people in town who work hard to do so as well, including one for even remotely larger/hyped/hip-set bands that does a great job of getting fliers up, posters made and info available.  We've got three colleges that, when in season, love two things more than all others: music and drinking, and we've got the latter in spades at below moronic prices.  It's cheap, it's fun and a great place to play.   People will buy your shitty album and you'll have gas money to get to Washington/Oregon where your real friends are.  We will seriously take ANYONE, (although I love the heavy/hardcore/fast stuff most myself which we never get...), and there's a younger SxEx scene that will book you and come to your shows in DROVES if that's more your thing.  They've got at least three, that I can think of, All Ages venues and I'd be glad to pass it on.  CHECK IT OUT MAAAAAAAAAN!
