not sure why but coming into this discussion I figured I'd see a lot more Combat records stuff than say... Southern Lord.

anyway,

Forced Entry, Abattoir, Ludichrist, D.B.C., Terrorizer, Impetigo, Bolt Thrower, Carnivore, Celtic Frost, Sacrifice etc etc etc.

i'm not sure who sang it but there's one girl garage song "boy what'll you do then" that'll fit right in there.

it's by "Denise & Company". I think it's on the Girls Play Guitars or whatever its called comp. those kinda piss me off 'cause I always fall hard for a song only to find out the band never released anything else (the Denise chick went on to form Ace Of Cups, it's pretty solid. up there wit the Luvd Ones on the all girl 60s garage front).

sounds like your comp there needs some Nervous Norvus. I got a cd lying around someone once sent me with a nice load of 50s-60s novelty type tracks. it's got that Alfred E. Neuman burping track on it.. "IT'S A GAS!".

You need "Melvin" by The Belles.

Great all-female stab at "Gloria"

shit yeah! wasn't that on one of those Girls In The Garage comps? those are always filled with such gems, like that Althea & The Memories number, "Worst Record Ever Made".  Nai Bonet's "Jelly Belly", The Continental Co-Ets "Melody of Junk",  Ruby Rats' "Heatwave", and the Fatimas "Hoochy Coo".

The Lawrence Comp's "Moon Beam" and The Id's Those Ever-Lovin' Baby Blues, too. Not as trashy but honestly two of the most incredible tracks of all time.

I was a bit skeptic as well at first but soon realized that site is somewhat of a goldmine. especially the similar artists radio, since a whole bunch of labels and bands I dig began making their stuff available for streaming on there.

I just remembered this awesome mix I made as a very sharp 14 y/o delinquent.. all gang green/black sabbath. I bet I still have it somewhere.

ALWAYS!
either hand drawn or everything cut out of magazines and glued.
making the packaging takes longer than making the mix tape.

then those girls are def bitches. I usually get a good idea of what the cover is gonna look like before I pick the first song. then illustrate my way through em. the only time I made cutouts look good was when I used a copy of Hustler.

you also sad something about corn dogs?  Did you read my myspace or something?  Bacon and corn dogs are both listed under my interests.

I'm an avid enthusiast of anything junk related. including wieners. I even wrote a song about the Jimmy Dean Blueberry Pancakes & Sausage on a Stick. it will make its way to a comp once I record it (some day, some day..).

no offense, but you said you look like a science teacher and have bad teeth. no point in lurking.

totally up for it. but don't you live somewhere crazy far away? or am i getting confused with someone else or something else....
also, now, would this be a mix that is an auditory interpretation OF (in my case proverbial) morning wood, or one that should CAUSE it? two totally different kinds of mixes.

yeah, armpit of the universe pretty much. it never posed a problem in mix exchanges though (besides the European shipping+handling fees.. greedy bastards).

definitely an interpretation of it. I just assumed it could function as an inducer of erections as well. then again I don't have a dick, so we'll never really know.

I want to challenge someone to make me a mix with a theme. like a morning wood themed mix.. or a bacon mix.

i would LOVE to make someone a morning wood themed mix. feel free to challenge.

challenged! I bet this is gonna be like audible viagra. do you want one too?

Bacon mix?
You're speakin' my language!

oh YEAH? I'm having trouble thinking of distinct bacon inspired/related songs that would suffice an entire mixtape. a lot of corn dogs ones do come to mind though, I could pull off an entire box-set of cassettes with those.

I gave up making tapes for girls a long time ago.  Whenever I made a tape for a girl she would "misplace it" or "hadn't gotten around to listening to it."

was cover artwork involved? a lot of girls "hear with their eyes".

intros outros and interludes. those can be dealbreakers though.. you gotta choose carefully. I like ripping total 80s cheese movies and messing around with the clips throughout the mix (did that once w/ Valley Girl, so tight).. you could also go with french "new wave" cinema if you feel artsy (or wanna get in her/his pants).

well, yeah, that's kind of a given though.

but you don't have to be some electro/grime enthusiast in order to form a "valid" opinion on it. this coming from someone who's less than fervent about the original version, and is somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to the genres listed above.
