I just refreshed all the local shops with represses. Only Dandelion had one original left. Zoo Zhop might have a couple as well, but they are closed this week so I couldn't check.
The repress has a black and white insert, that's how you can tell them apart.

The Courtneys LP has been repressed!
It's the perfect summer record, fun slacker fuzz pop for fans of Grass Widow, Eddy Current and Flying Nun obscurities.
the first pressing of 300 sold out on the day of it's release. The second press is a conservative 200 copies.
Mail order here: http://www.hockeydadrecords.com/
US customers can save money by contacting theeloglady (at) gmail (dot) com about mail order.
Revolver USA is carrying the record for distribution.

Pop Drones is the best new music show in Vancouver right now... Mark always has whatever is new and noisy on his show that week. Definitely worth podcasting if you do that sort of thing. Garage/psych/lo-fi stuff sent to CiTR usually ends up getting played on lots of different shows with overlapping interests.

I have some tour copies of the new White Lung single "Atlanta" that is coming out on Deranged Records later this month. These were pressed for White Lung's recent tour with Nu Sensae down the West Coast. Only 100 were pressed, most are gone already.
White labels, photocopied cover and insert!

I also found a couple copies of the first pressing of White Lung's debut single and put them up at my store as well.

I saw this band play a show several years ago and it was great! they were total back woods weirdo's and were really destructive when they played. They showed up for the show with all their gear set up in the back of a pick up truck, guitars sliding around without cases... they truly did not give a fuck. The recordings sound like a really lo-fi Saints or something...

While I was waiting for the train today I saw an asian lady with a purse that had:

MINUTEMEN
MEAT PUPPETS
DESCENDENTS
ANGST

BROADWAY
... and then a date and time silk screened on it. There was no way this lady knew who those bands were, and the names were laid out in a really generic font, like arial or something. I've seen lots of cheap sweatshop clothing around Vancouver with random english text stolen from who knows where on it, but this purse was amazing.

Phil Smith teaches English at the local Art School, Emily Carr. He was great teacher who would drop lots of really obscure references to punk stuff all the time. I remember finding the Phil Smith LP at a record sale and freaking out cause I had no idea he was in all those bands.
B-Lines covered "Wirehead" when we started but we never recorded a proper version, so I think it will be lost to the ages.
When I was still going to Emily Carr I tried to get the school paper to pay for a limited edition pressing of "Wirehead" with a Nu Sensae song on the b-side. It was going to be a give-away with the last issue of the year. It was supposed to be a look at two generations of Vancouver art school punk (since Andrea from Nu Sensae went there too) but the check the school gave me bounced and the project died.
