I love typewriters - I have an Olivetti from the 70s and it's classy/awesome.
There's a difference between how the type appears from typewriter to typewriter, but only an expert can tell, I think (I certainly can't).
And I LOVE word processors, esp the old IBMs. That kind of type has its own charm and I love the way they sound...yeah, people definitely collect those shits.
I recommend checking out http://mytypewriter.com/ - don't buy one from there (the prices are often WAY too high), but use it as a reference. there's some cool trivia on there, too.

I'm reading "Herzog" by Saul Bellow. I like it so far, especially how the details about the main character's lifestyle (he shares his bread with rats) and how he views women. It's my "bus book." I had no idea that Saul Bellow was so accessible, at least in the beginning (It's the first book of his that I have read)
I just finished reading a book by Ha Jin - called "A Free LIfe." The Chinese-American artist/restaurant experience sounds way exhausting. Quite a journey, that one.

I don't see how there's anything wrong with calling characters shitty or not shitty. the characters in this show are complex and well developed - but If you didn't judge them at points, that would mean that you weren't invested in the characters.
I am altogether in love with this show.

I don't think skylar is a cunt at all! She left him because she knew he was dealing drugs and shit. she didn't leave him for having the affair, that shit just made her sad and suspicious.
If my husband was dealing massive amounts of $$$meth$$$ I would probably be cool with it HOWEVER I'm shitty and skylar is not -- she doesn't want her babies to get in the middle of anything!
oh, but those flirty scenes between her and bossdude make me so mad. I almost killed myself when she sang "happy birthday mr president." so actually I take it back - skylar is the worst.
