If Green Day doesn't count then it was probably London Calling.

Music Shit / Re: Records are really expensive
« on: March 08, 2018, 08:45:26 PM »
I feel like Vinyl is the most obvious way to mark inflation in my adult life.  The first time I bought a record in a store it was a copy of Out of Step with a 7.99 price tag on the jacket, adjusted to 9.99 because I'm Canadian.  Now that same record is like 22.99 in every store.  Fuck part of why I got into vinyl is because it was cheaper, and there was more stuff I was into on vinyl than there was on CD.  Now I can't even afford new stuff 90% of the time.  My entire existence is just me drifting from used bin to used bin in Toronto.

There's a few thing in my collection that would have totally been worth selling for a brief time before they got repressed.  I am always too lazy to keep up to date on all that stuff so I never get to strike when the Iron is hot so to speak.

I cant wait until they finally cut the record store middle men out of the picture and just have distributors throw this shit on ebay themselves.

Didn't see anything on this list, eagerly anticipating the LPs though.

Here's a question for you renters with high-end records: do you have theft/fire insurance? Just curious. I went years - until very recently - without it myself.

I have been wondering about that, I probably only own 10 records worth over $50 bucks but some of the people on here have stuff that would make me cry a bit.

Found Skrewdriver "You're So Dumb" 7" at one of my localish classic rock type stores.  $25 bucks.

Non-Music Shit / Re: high school reunion stories

I've never been invited to any school reunions, but I am honestly baffled that's something anyone would want to do.

The trick is not to graduate.  Then they don't invite you.

Connor McDavid breaks hand in junior hockey fight, out six weeks, probably misses World Jr's....  TSN are crying right now!

Do the Sabres have any kind of back up plan if they lose the draft lottery?  How many picks are they stockpiling right now?

The back up plan is that the guy at 2 is also incredible, and 3-10 are really good as well.

I figured as much, when I read the dates on the backposts.  Oh well, gl to you all.  Maybe i'll join in next year.

Here is what I have trouble with,  canada took two players who I consider pretty similar, kunitz and marleau. I say they are the same because their numbers are greatly inflated because of the guys they share ice time with.  So why take them both when you only take one of their incredible centers?  For the record I am not advocating taking joe thornton,  I am saying leave marleau home,  and kunitz,  giroux and neal should be going instead.
