OK, not a record, but as a 15 year old I watched "The Great Rock & Roll Swindle" late one Friday night on my little black & white portable TV in 1985. Blew me away and I knew that punk was what I was missing in my life. Not too much of a push to say that it changed my life (for the better) and here I am 30 years later.

Seeing the Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle on my little black and white portable TV in 1985 when I was 15. Made me realise there was something missing in my life, and that something was punk rock! Haven't looked back since.

On the skate vid topic, Chris Senn's part in Jump Off a Building was almost my skateboard equivalent to the Sex Pistols, except that I was SOLD on punk rock, interest in skateboards didn't last.

He skated fast. Used to have a Chris Senn Adrenalin board. Brian Anderson and Mike Maldonado had my favorite parts in that video. Also, Bam could really skate at one time.

That's what I loved. I remember thinking everyone else were doing neat tricks, Senn seemed like the Kool Aid man looking for a wall.

Connecticut is New England and parts of it are quite nice, so one of the most historically "American" and quaint parts of the U.S. can keep it and quit bitchin'. I've heard the "let conn. secede from New England" caterwaul and it's tiresome. You guys have enough precious landmarks and scenic graveyards and elite collegiate snobbery and the Kennedies , not to mention the Newport Mansions and Cape Cod, waterfront carnivals n' such, the best public education in the country, etc. so kindly take your x acres of wasteland and show some neighborly affection already will ya?

I would never want to LET the nutmeggers do anything. There's no need for secession, they've already been kicked out.

Bridgeport Conn is pretty fucked. Lotta crime and drugs. Worked a hippie fest over the course of a weekend about 5-6 years ago. Saw a dude get busted for 60 bags of smack. Dude was a fucking idiot but I still felt bad for him. Right before that happened I was throwing a football around with a cop (yeah) and found a joint on the ground after he overthrew me. Thanks pig!

NY needs to take ownership of CT. We (New Englanders) don't want it anymore. The only people in New England who will tell you the region consists of 6 sates are in CT, the rest of us say 5. I'll trade you Connecticut for Albany. We can move the NY border all the way up to Rhody, move Mass border over to Schenectady. It's a good deal. In fact, I'll trade MA, CT and Rhode Island for the Adirondacks.

I didn't like Cincinnati or Richmond, VA. I can't even think of 3 worst places because I try to stay in my corner. I guess I don't really like New York, I've had fun there though.

Definitely happened in May, not March like I said before. Reading some of the other crash accounts here I feel lucky, no broken bones or structural damage. At least I don't look injured. Will live in fear of having a second seizure, I guess it can happen long after, but I can walk around and do stuff.

I used to ride a single speed with front brake only, 12 months a year, blizzard or not, never had a problem with it.

I guess Boston is between the harsh NYC pav? and whatever idyllic locale Charlie lives in. Boston streets can be ragged, but I can ride to some decent roads in or past the suburbs pretty easily.

Hit by a car in March. Or May. Brain injury. Spent a week in a hospital passed out or talking gibberish when they could wake me. Then some time at home, awake but talking gibberish. I'm working again, part time for now, functioning ok-ish when I feel good, I don't think talking gibberish anymore. Pretty non-stop headaches. Wear a helmet.
