Dunno, but it's so melodic.. I don't really like all these melodic licks in punk

if a woman spreads her legs and gets knocked up by her own choice then she has a responsibility to the life she helped create.

Agreed...

and who are you to decide?
I don't even think men have any say on the topic - you don't even know and will never know what's it like to give birth or be pregnant.

Just recently been to Estonia, and, to be fair, their punk scene is right now almost non-existant. Surprisingly, the few punks they have are more interested in activism than playing music.
I tried looking for some Estonian punk to give as gifts back home and the only record I was ever advised at a store was some mellow def-leppard-kinda-rock shit.

I'm really amazed you have 13 hours worth of Estonian punk.

If the Scandinavian Punk/HC you mention is Finnish/Swedish/Norwegian d-beat kinda bands - I doubt you'll find stuff like that coming from Estonia

Besides JMKE, there is a band i heard called Propeller - allegedly, "the first punk band in USSR" - but it sounds like glam rock   ???

I just checked a Russian punk forum where few inhabitants drool over all kind of wierd rare shit from Europe (and especially, Scandinavian countries) - Propeller is the only band ever mentioned (because JMKE is pretty self-explanatory)

Demo Tape / Virulent Mass - mghc from Russia (I KNOW!)
« on: September 19, 2012, 04:25:27 PM »

hey boys and girls,
so this is our demo.

If it had a title, it would've been "Sloppy as Fuck", but oh well, some people told me that they like it that way (well, "some people" is actually just my mum).

We hail from moscow, russia, and this shit was largely influenced by some faster, less artsy youth attack bands.

Basically, this record is an utter failure in an attempt to sound something like those bands. And yes, obviously the usage of much hated now "mghc" term is a bait.

I hope you hate it.

Demo Tape / Re: SHOCK ( Bdx - Primitive Hardcore Punk) DEMO OUT NOW !

  Thanx dude !
Yeah there's a scene that's been growing on strong in the last few years, with bands such as Gasmask Terror, Warning//Warning or Face Up To It from Bordeaux, but also tons more from other parts of France. You might be able to check some of them here : http://french-jerks.blogspot.fr/

That's awesome! I actually forgot about gasmask terror, they are popular even in russia, at least their lp is like in every distro and from what i see it sells well also

i don't know man, when i was a kid - yes, lots of assholes your age looking to mug you of your pin money.

in my 20s - not THAT scary

and that tsoi wall - a magnet for all sorts of assholes, that's true. but that's because there are loads of drunk assholes on that street and they know they might find some deviants there to beat up. but it's not like there is violence everyday or every week even.

the large streets - are you talking about like the very outskirts of the city? yeah those places might be tough, i don't even know, never was there late, but they probably have dark jokes about those areas for a reason

A friend of mine is living here with his soon-to-be wife, not directly in the center - she also lived for 3 years in Mexico - she keeps telling us we've never seen real crime and Moscow is kindergarden compared to some of the shit she'd seen  :)

Non-Music Shit / Re: Pussy Riot
« on: July 26, 2012, 02:20:32 PM »
on the other hand i'm pretty sure there'd be loads of shit bands and people with few ideas anywhere, mediocrity is not a race trait.
well of course nothing is a racial trait, it is to do with the culture that yuo grow up surrounded by, and in the end MONEY. i think.
i also dunno how much being a "great punk" equates to being a shit band or not, i suspect there is no link whatsoever

hey - wasn't equating shit bands with being good punks (or the opposite) - was just pointing out that there are probably more exceptions to these rules like "russians are good at being punks" or whatever than the examples that come to make up the rule to begin with. i'm sure right now in a huge city like moscow there are a lot of bands calling themselves punks doing lots of really dull things, lots of epitaph sounding bands, lots of ska punk etc. (as someone else pointed out further up).

yeah, i guess that sums it up. there are also lots of crust punks and youth crew kids playing the same ol' shit and waiting for a new trendy sub-genre. and btw, no one cares about pussy riot really, there were very few punks at the occupy actions or the public demonstrations earlier this year

hey, new to the forums so i probably don't qualife as a "termbo" (man i haven't figured this forum out yet anyway, i just visited from time to time because lots of cool punk music is being posted about).

But yeah, i'm from moscow, know few punks in st.pete as well so if you need some advice i may probably help.

and tbh i don't think moscow or st.pete are any more dangereous than any other big cities in the world. it would be cool to tell you about how we're "living on the edge, fighting off cops and boneheads" - but we don't.
