Music Shit / Re: Picture Discs

I just had a flashback, my late 90s 20 year old self was so into picture disks that I once had a dream where I owned a picture disk of  "off the bone" by the cramps (I can picture it now, it still had all the red and green 3D stuff, 12", dunno how the design would have worked) and it was so vivid that when I woke up I searched thru my records over and over and felt a sense of loss when I realised it had never even existed. All because my older sister had a (normal) copy with 3D glasses that i totally coveted since I was 12 or so.

Crate Digger - about a record collector and his life. Started reading it. Seems really cool, fun and honest so far. Definitely will finish it.

I read this when it came out. I liked it when he gave his synopsis of where he was when he found certain bands (reminded me of the dude in High Fidelity wanting to organize autobiographically). I also loved the way he talked about his shop being a living/breathing thing. I never mailordered from him but he seems like a nice guy. Although, I've had dreams of opening a shop for the past 20 years (been real serious the last 5) but this just turned me off of that and made me apologize to my wife...
I read it and I cant say I was too impressed. Needed editing imo, not that many digging stories, too much broken heart stuff.

The cotton on the "Thai" gets me,my mate picks up the same when he goes up town, its not a bad smoke but I doubt its actually Thai, prob African.Smoking tobacco and weed is very popular in the UK/Europe you hardly see anyone smoke it pure, though more so nowadays, myself included, though I do miss a good black hash baccy joint.

Ive had loads of good brick weed,no seeds etc,but Im UK and the worst we get is soapbar, very popular in the 90s shitty hash mix, pretty much why I started on "skunk",I always used to be able to buy excellent Afghan/Indian/Moroccan hash until the Essex gangsters took over in the 90s,same with weed up until '05 then a huge soapbar hash drought drove the mongs to smoke weed, then weed doubled in price on the oz,and contaminated weed started to show up.Im all for legalization just on that basis.
