Non-Music Shit / Re: NHL 2011/2012 THREAD

I just don't understand how getting a guy that was fired as GM almost 20 years ago to advise you on who to hire as your next GM is a good idea.  I can understand the logic (get advised by the last guy who won you a cup), but it just doesn't make any real business sense.  Savard was fired with good reason.  He traded maybe the best NHL defenceman of the last 30 years for an aging French Canadian superstar who was clearly riddled with injuries and way past his prime.  Then after miraculously winning the Stanley Cup three years later (with no thanks to gimpy, injured old man Denis Savard), he trades away Eric Desjardins and John LeClair (who a lot of people forget besides Patrick Roy were two of their biggest playoff hero's in '93) for fucking Dr. Mark Recchi.  I guess you can't fault Recchi for not putting up those kind of Philly / Pittsburgh numbers here (Turgeon and Damphousse were certainly a far cry from Lindros or Lemieux), but its not like LeClair hadn't shown flashes of awesomeness here.  He scored two fucking overtime winning goals in the Stanley Cup Finals, for christ sakes!!  Desjardins arguably was one of the best defenseman in the league for at least five or six years after that trade, too.  The Chelios trade was abysmal enough, but that Recchi trade set the franchise back at least a decade, if not longer.

I guess dude knows a lot of "hockey minds" for what its worth...

yep! brutal. eventhough my loyalty to the team is unquestionable, it's getting real fuckin hard to be a fan these days.

Sonic Avenues / Steve Adamyk Band Euro-tour split 7"

I have a few split 7" (P.Trash) left from the tour (no special editions left, sorry).
If you're interested (for yourself or your distro/shop), pm me.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you like both kinds of music, Power and Pop, and if you need your Punkrock sticky like a popsicle, it's time to finally leave the house and go see this double feature of two of the most talked about bands last year. All the way from Canada, THE STEVE ADAMYK BAND and the SONIC AVENUES will keep your ears glued to the PA like a two-component adhesive. And to make sure this will be a night to remember, here's an appropraite souvenir to take home and make love to: A Double-A side split EP with a brand-new original and a superb coverversion by each band. ADAMYK and his band with the super catchy ''Bored of love'', that could work as the perfect opener for a new LP, and ''Eternal Isolation'' by our pals IDLE HANDS, perfectly adapted to their needs with LIZZY dual guitars and vocals. The SONIC AVENUES present themselves even poppier than on their LP with the sugar-coated ''Fading love'' and the wavy and heartbeating SWEET BABY cover of ''Two tons of dynamite''.
This very limited platter comes in the German soft-porn design of the 70s and is perfect to join in any escapade, not only with the Bavarian Fr?uleins. Don't miss out on this one!

Limd. 600 "Regular Edit." black wax, fixed in raw/ recycled style paper!

FUCK YOU MICHAEL RYDER, YOU FUCKING NEWFIE TRAITOR PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!

Awesome. At least Chara didn't score the OT winner.

what a fucking joke that was.. i feel like i got robbed. it should've been something like 10-4 for Montreal with all the missed opportunities, especially at the beginning of the game. it seems like the current problem with the habs is that when they get ahead on the score board, they slow down and let the other team strike back... wtf wtf wtf wtf.

MTL-BOS Game 4:

if the habs carry the momentum generated in the second and third period of game 3, tim thomas will get PTSD by the end of tonight's showdown.

also, chara is the worst.

Great first HABS vs BOS game. Bruins got Priced.

Chara once again showed how retarded he really is by getting a penalty with 3 mins to go when trailing 2-0..

Montreal in 6.

Lovvers are a standout I think. They're totally underrated. I really dig their OCD GO GO GIRLS LP. And ther're solid live.

In my opinion it would've have been a seminal LP for a UK band had the vocal treatment not been so messed up. I still don't own a copy for that reason

What happened to the vocals on the recording? I couldnt here any vocals at all when I saw them live a year or so ago. The music was good, but weird with almost no vocals.

they were given the under-water with a sock in the mouth treatment. totally ruined the lp for me.

yeah i thought the exact same thing when I first listened to it.. but i gave it another couple of spins and the fuzzed-out vocals somehow became less of a nuisance (more like an instrument) and I started to really, really like the whole thing.
