I played a few shows with Hoax over the summer and I don't think that dude is working a shtick or anything. Just ugly, violent music. It's one of the least cheesy current hardcore bands, from my perspective. But then, I want my live music to always end in blood and broken gear.

For some reason, Hoax hasn't clicked with me yet. Not sure why. I can definitely tell that the guy's an oddball, and not just trying too hard to be that way. The crowd is pretty insane and that's awesome. I just don't really dig their songs.

Almost no new bands seem to click with me anymore, so I know exactly what you're saying.

I don't think these guys are weirdos, either, which may have just outed me as a weirdo.
