been mixing on one of these for a good while, don't own a computer. It records in real-time so just learn your mix and go for it, mute channels and slam em in for their entrance etc.

been mixing on one of these recently, shit is stout.

8 ch interfaces don't seem to run too much dough, but I guess if you're not capable of sending direct outs from your tape machine you're better just mixing on the box

Been getting way in to Gene Clark lately. For some reason he never resonated with me before. I've had 'No Other' forever & it's always seemed a little dramatic to me and since that's the one that seems to get the most praise, I figured it wasn't my thing. Came across 'White Light' for $2 so I figured why not & that one really hit me. Such a great record. It makes me appreciate 'No Other' since I can see more clearly where it came from (kind of like how Blue Afternoon made me like Lorca more) . Picked up that Sundazed reissue of 'Roadmaster' & I like that one a lot too (though the title track is awful!). It's not totally solid but side 1 is perfect.

'No Other' is great and all, but it's probably the one of his I put on the least. I like what it's going for but I think it turned out a little too ponderous. It's exactly the kind of record that's more praised than it is actually listened to. 'White Light' on the other hand is one of the best albums ever made by anyone, and I'm listening to it right now just because you mentioned it and it made me want to hear it. If you haven't heard them before, I guarantee you'll dig 'Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers' (the classic first solo album) and 'The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard and Clark' (the bluegrass/folk-rock hybrid that shouldn't work but is actually great).

Ever heard the 'No Other' CD reish with the bonus cuts? Shit smokes and will give you a whole 'nother take on that batch of tunes as they are sans-TJ Kaye production. Personally I am way down with the overblown TJK production and enjoy 'Two-Sides...' as well. Shit I can even stomach both TJK solo records (dark).
