Music Shit / Re: Thrift Score
« on: August 28, 2012, 04:10:11 PM »
Looks like some 90s dude just gave up on a few records. Found these for a buck each at the local thrift store. A few I'm stoked on the others I just bought to sell.

Stoked on
Paris 1942 (Sun City Girls with Moe Tucker on drums)
Mongo Santamaria "Soul Bag"
AC/DC "Fly on the Wall" (Classic dollar record that should have already been on my shelf)
Lynyrd Skynyrd "Second Helping" (Again, classic dollar record)
Idiot Savant "wish u wud" (No idea about this, looks like some 80s bar rock from SF. Anyone got any stories on these dudes? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKJzpZVvd-s

Not stoked, but probably could make a buck on these,
June of 44 "Engine takes to Water" (Never liked these dudes)
June of 44 Tropics and Meridians"
Philosophers Stone "Preparation" (More 90s Midwest indy art rock, meh)
Gastr del Sol "Upgrade and Afterlife" (Might keep this one cause it reminds me of an old bro that used to get blazed for days on end and listen to this, this album was usually the soundtrack to conversations about aliens, Russian literature and Metallica. I know it sounds retarded to put on Gastr del Sol and talk about Metallica, but it was the 90s, shit like that would just happen. I never really dug this LP, but it always got my friend to talking)

I don't know how I would've gotten through apples through ninth key on a slow machine without you Garcia. RIP
"Sometimes I wish froggy had wings, go froggy, go!"
Feels like such prescient words when I hear them now.

Buck Owen's "Monster's Holiday"
Love this song! It always makes me think this is the song GG wanted to write when he wrote "Last in Line for the Gang-Bang"

That picture in the first link is pretty funny, but this is nothing new. Follow civil war soldiers' histories before and after the war and you will likely find that most of them were involved in some sort of gangs or thuggery (pinkertons, and various other mercenary roles). Same story with every generation of military members. I got no problem with gangsters in the military; it is pretty much unavoidable. If a persons choices are, join an armed group for the long term that that only has social capital in a limited context, pays poorly over the long term, has a high risk coefficient, has great access to drugs and will likely lead to jail then I say go the gang route. Or,  if you want an armed group with high social capital in a broad context, pays poorly over the long term, has limited access to drugs, has a high risk coefficient, and you are willing to give up the best years of your life to fight thankless battles I say go the military route. I personally believe the military provides a better outlet for people in need of armed alignment, better weapons, better weapons training, and a better chance of being able to do something with their life after they make it through their 20s. I would bet that gang members probably make real good soldiers, and it keeps them from being in street gangs. It also gives them a chance to straighten out their moral compass, and get exposure to different worldviews, not likely to happen in a gang. On behalf of California I would like to say "your welcome" for providing the bulk of the best front line through the last several wars. All those faggots and gangsters are securing your freedom to eat deep fried butter. Suck it fatties! West Side Bitches!!

I thought this thread was about evolution?

I thought this thread was about ICP.
Really it's about both

The amount of things you don't know on this subject are vast. I've addressed all of your baseless claims in earlier posts, go back read them again, take notes on hybridization and descent with modification and adaptation if you want a better understanding. Look these things up, you have no excuse not to educate yourself. You are currently making assumptions about a scientific theory that you admittedly have almost no knowledge of. You refuse to acknowledge the difference between theory and scientific theory in spite of the fact that I just explained it to you. You're being thick. You don't know the basic workings of the scientific method as exemplified by your use of the words "provable" when conducting experiments. The term is non-falsifiable, all experiments are set up in an attempt to falsify a hypothesis not to prove it right. Conclusions build support, support strengthens a hypothesis, enough support develops into a theory.

Your lame example of bird/dogs and other fictional hybrids is retarded. You should probably just shut the fuck up on this subject cause you're making yourself look stupid.

If you wanna see evolution happen in front of your very eyes, you are going to need to look at r-selected species: bacterias, viruses, etc.. Look up what r-selection vs. K-Selection is before you start googling a bunch of conspiracy bullshit this time. K-selected species evolve very very slowly, you will not see them evolve in your lifetime.

How does this all come back to your boyfriend R. Paul? His message and that of others who push this anti-science agenda are weakening Americas ability to compete in scientific research and industry. As our world speeds up and becomes more dependent on this kind of research, why would anyone want to undermine its very foundation? All biological research is fundamentally based in evolution, to deny it means that you believe that any research done on any living thing is bogus; without evolution biology as we know it can not exist. Do you get why this is a pointless and potentially dangerous point of view to pursue yet? It is being pushed across the board by right wingers solely to push a more religious agenda, and they are not considering the consequences. Quit being a sheep.

I noticed that too, my girl and I were talking about how shitty that change in narration was last night. The NYTimes is one of the only mainstream media outlets even giving this event much coverage and they just trashed any notion of objective journalism with that move.

Trisomy at chromosome 21 actually looks pretty good on you. I'll leave you alone now that I know though. Carry one with your Ron Paul blow job.
