I don't have a subscription, but Talking Leaves, a local book store here in Buffalo holds a copy for me every month until I can make it there. The guy said they usually only get two copies in. I buy one and about half the time they send the other copy back. As far as I know, it's the only place in Buffalo that carries it. I might be wrong about that, but I have looked for it at several other places in the city and no one else seems to carry it.
When I lived in Toronto, I worked at a store that carried MRR. We always got three copies. Nobody would every buy them. We'd rip the cover off and send that back and I would take the magazine to the laundromat next door and leave it there. There were a few other places in Toronto that carried it. However, we were the only place on the West side that had it. And that seemed to be where most of the punks lived—cause it's the cheapest area of the city. Or was...now it's cool and hip.
My point to this is, I am surprised that a magazine of this size, with such a variety of content can't sell for 4-5 bucks a month. It's cheaper than two Sunday papers. Columns and reviews alone are worth the price in my opinion.
